Gaming Assassin's Creed: Shadows

Decided to give it a go on Ubisoft's gamepass thing. Very pretty graphics and I was enjoying myself until a bug removed all audio.

They're not just in castles, you can unlock them for 800 mon on the map, they're called kakegure or something like that.

Oh yeah I'm doing that too, and some temples are friendly areas. Just seems batshit a good chunk of them are in castles, especially if you want the viewpoint to check surrounding areas.

Game is starting to piss me off, the way the objectives are is stupid, it doesn't really tell you what to do or when, so you end up exploring and clearing castles, then an hour later get a quest back at that castle. feck off, I've done it once, the item wasn't there earlier but is now.

The viewpoints are definitely my biggest annoyance. Too many of them, they don't reveal enough of the map, and it's too much of a hassle getting to each due to unclimbable mountains and just dense forest. Makes it a bit of a slog.

Think I'm just tired of open world games, don't have anywhere near the same energy to explore them like before. Elden Ring was the last one I actually finished, but it was so fecking big that it killed every other one. KCD2 gave up in after the 1st act and now I'm not even half way done this and I don't really have the urge to stick with it. 25 or so hours and feel like there's nothing else to get from the game. Even the landscapes, while pretty, are a bit too similar everywhere so I don't have the urge to explore.

The game has though made me redownload Sekiro again, which has really turned into my favourite game ever I'd say. Just so satisfying and streamlined.

I'm about 32 hours into the game now, only just got to Omi, which is my third region. I'm loving the stealth as Naoe, but also loving just going beast mode as Yasuke.
