Good luck to him, it was a good time to go. Always gave his all, and was always fit and ready whenever he was called.
 
With the exception of DDG and RVP you could argue that Young summed up the signings by Ferguson from 2009-2013. Honest hard working but not getting near to being in a classic MU side.

3 pages? That's it? 3 pages for a guy who was always positive about us and gave more than 8 years of his life? Who has always been passionate about the club? Who I am sure has been struggling in his heart whenever we were? 3 pages?

There is no universe where he is/was loyal servant, his loyalty never been tested, he was more than happy to be in United and earn the money he was on, bet he couldnt believe his luck specially in years under SAF. Look behold, now first time there was some interest and he went full, wanna go now, dont wanna play rumours flying around and went packin. I wouldnt give him minutes even if he was last player standing in United but there are fans out there who likes him as United player and captain ( /facepalm) that see him jumping out now a bit fecked, in their eyes squad need more bodies in and not out. Best part of all those clueless clowns even offered him new contract to fend of Inter and he said no.

Never thought I'd say this but I am a little sad to see him go because there are 3 or 4 that should go before him but it is what it is and he has got a great opportunity to play out his career at a reasonable level in a title chasing team. I hope he does well.
 
All the best to him. He wasn't good enough but at least gave 100% every time he was on the pitch.
 
A player who always gave his all whether he was playing at right back, left back, right wing or left wing. Sometimes he started ahead of more talented players because of this. Best of luck to him.
 
Should have been sold in 2014. How he stayed here after that horrific season is beyond me. Dreadful winger turned mediocre full back. Will not remember him fondly.
 
Good servant and always gave his all. He definitely won't go down in club history as one of the best wingers or captains but he did a good job for the club for a number of years.

Best of luck to him. I hope the move works out well for him. Even better if he can bring the best out of Sanchez so Inter take him permanently.

It's definitely a good move by the club to move him on. He's past his best at full back and it's time for the new breed to take over.

The club policy of clearing out substandard players and characters and replacing them with higher quality and winning mentality is a good one. They're at least doing the first part of that well.
 
Good luck to him. I'll always remember him for the first half of the 17/18 season where he was fantastic at leftback, and although he couldn't maintain that form he was generally at least as good as our other options in the surrounding years. Not his fault none of the others cemented their spot so we kept having to play him far more than we would have liked.
 
Good luck to him. The quality hasn’t been up to what we need for a few years now, but to expect a left winger to convert to right and left full back at 30+ is mental. The game has moved on, it requires a specialist player there now.

Not surprised he wanted to move with the amount of shit he must get after games on social media, even when he’s been far from the worst player. I’m not saying he’s been quality, but its excessive sometimes. It’s not his fault he was asked to play so many games at that age, against players that would beat most full backs for pace/skill.

One thing I will say is he seemed to love it at United and there are numerous stories of him doing great things off the pitch for fans. I’m not sure that should be so underestimated.
 
We should've hired Conte. Cannot imagine a manager looking at our squad last year and thinking 'I want their liability at the back, donkey in the attack and crock in the physio room'

Can’t blame him for going now. We’re in good shape at full back positions. He’s got more chance of winning something in Italy this season and rounding off his career than warming a bench for us.

Freeing up salary equivalent for anybody incoming.

Some of you are in need of help or something. For most of his career here he was always solid, gave everything on the pitch and led by example in terms of willing to do a job for the team. He has played in almost every position without much of a grumble as far as I'm aware. He aged fairly gracefully I think and was happy just to pitch in and be the stop gap/elder statesman. I am sure a lot of players will miss him as he did seem like a nice guy, and like it or not, had a winning mentality we seem to lack (shown through his efforts to play anywhere and give his all).

He is 35 for goodness sake yet most are acting like he is 25 and just shit. He is not going to be the best in any position in the world. Also it's not his fault he stayed as long as he did. Managers trusted him for a reason

Imagine someone worked at your workplace for 9 years.

They weren't amazing at their job, some good days, some bad days, but they always put the effort in and gave 100% and loved working their... And even when they were meant to work less in their latter years, they kept filling in for people who were constantly off sick.

Everyone at your work really loved working with the guy and he was a positive influence around the office, but yet... during his leaving party, some bloke walked in and shouted "Good riddance to bad rubbish"... You would likely think that person is an being a bit of a twat.
 
Even though we got enough players to play fullback, selling your captain and one of the most experienced players in the squad for nothing midway through the season makes little footballing sense. If he had deteriorated physically due to age, this would have been understandable, but he has not.

The only way it makes sense is financial---> Amount spent on wages has to go down for us to continue being profitable with less income due to no CL and less attractive to sponsor deals.

Never complained. Always put in a shift. At his best, he was always a useful asset to the club considering the circumstances. I wish him all the best at Inter. With a bit of luck, he could be lifting the Scuddetto this season..
 
All the best to him.. He was good as a wingback during LVG days so i guess he'll be good for Inter.. But surprised he just signed a 6 month contract with them
 
One of only 3 or 4 United players that I found likeable anymore. Top pro and understood the fans, hope he wins the title with Inter.
 
What's all the #notforeveryone bollocks ? I thought it was shots at us for not wanting Lukaku and Sanchez.

Sorry, but I never took to him. Was gutted when we signed him, and have had to watch 9 years of his rubbish. I'm not sold on Ole, but at least he's getting rid of the likes of him and Fellaini.

Of course he loved it here. He's made millions of pounds. A lot more than he would've made elsewhere.

He's a Premiership footballer... He'd have made millions of pounds wherever he went.

Other people (note: pretty much every single first team footballer) have made millions of pounds with us and haven't loved it? Or have been been so well liked and respected within the club.
