Should have given away a penalty. His shit balls on the outside of the LB are doing my head in.
18 months left of this crap.

He׳s all over the place, his clearances are shocking, worst ive ever seen at any level, consistently too.
I appreciate the fire he has, but he’s the worst type of captain imo.
He’s all over the place, even his reactions.
No composure what so ever.
No way he should be starting games for us.

Awful freaking game, he keep giving up possession with stupid long balls that were easily gained by their cbs. We need to buy a new RB right away.

Yep. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this. Lots of comments about Smalling's incident that rightfully wasn't a penalty, but Young's moment is being ignored despite being far more of a penalty shout.

I like Young, and think people are forgetting how good he has been for us the last few seasons (and that he's had good periods this season as well). But the last few games he's been quite shocking. It's a shame we've had all these injures as otherwise I'm pretty sure Dalot would have had a match or two in the last few.

About his third 1/10 performance in as many weeks and that is counting a game in which he scored. Needs to not be playing anymore simple as.

What exactly does he bring to our team? Apart from moaning at people. How is he our main RB? Mind boggling.

They were much better today though? Played some great balls to Rashford and Lukaku, especially when we had nothing else on.

Anyway, he struggled a lot with Bertrand and Redmond today, but people in here are, once again, being a bit OTT (shocking for the Caf I know...)... I mean he I don't see what all these mistakes/things that cost us were... He just was poor up against their pace

Awful. Decision making is horrendous, no intelligence whatsoever. Don't know why he walks around like Ronnie fecking Coleman either - gets on my bastard nerves and will be glad to see the back of him.

He was really awful. I think we should probably start Dalot more, no need to wait for next season.

It's not just this game, his form has fallen off and his weakness are really showing. I don't know why United have to wait for players to become completely useless before we look into replacing them. He would make a good squad player, but he's not a squad player and to top it off he's the captain too, so you expect more from him. What's more frustrating is his passing today, he kept trying the same the pass and it didn't come off.

I think Valencia should come in and we get Young out of the firing line for a game or two. He was bad today. Then ship them both in the summer.

Has no respect for keeping possession, loves a 50/50 ball down the channel. Even his throw ins are aimed high for a jump ball.

Don't see how he's become so trusted under Ole, defensively suspect and diabolical in building up attacks.
He always goes for the 50/50 long balls, it’s so comical. Everyone has stated the obvious but his biggest crime is his lack of composure and inability to play a passing game. When we look at players like Phil Jones even though they are error prone they at least have the ability’s to pass the ball to a mid table standard. Ashley young is championship quality when it comes to passing the ball.

When he gets the ball according to him he has only one option and you already guessed it....hoof the ball to the striker who by the way can’t even trap the ball. Other than his determination I don’t understand why we keep him on past this season. Normally I’d be screaming start Dalot but even he is inconsistent defensively. Dalot has a good game today but was suspect in the last few.

We have to hold on with young till the end of the season and then get rod because enough is enough.

Did you not watch Valencia play against Newcastle? He should be kept away from the team. We have Dalot, he can't do much worse than Young at the moment, at the very least he's a threat when attacking.

Did you not watch Young today or against Palace? I'm not saying Valencia will be better, but I feel Young needs some rest and by the looks of it Dalot will be needed as a RM and is very vulnerable in defense.

This is were you missed it. Nobody is moaning about his struggle against Redmond and co. It’s the shitty need to give away possession under no stress. The shitty need to cross the ball down the right with out any consideration. He does it every game without fail even though it hardly ever comes off. If young kept possession more often he wouldn’t be under so much pressure from Redmond.

Valencia would be worse going off recent form and that's saying something. I actually think Darmian and Dalot on the right wing would make a good partnership, Darmian is a good defender and Dalot covers his weaknesses going forward, but Darmian isn't fit sadly.

Young's passing was actually better today though? Way higher pass accuracy then normal and more accurate long balls then normal?

He actually played some really good balls into Rashers and Lukaku when we had nothing all and it helped us to move up the pitch (which we struggled to do at times when we passed it out)

Didn't see the game but this doesn't surprise me - he's always doing some nonsense in every game

Ashley Dung. I’m starting to hate him. Giving that freekick away right on the edge of our box was the usual brainless move from him, he also nearly give a penalty away (on another day the ref would have give it) and he constantly gives the ball away to put us under pressure. Only one more year to go and I really can’t wait to he’s gone.

I think Darmian is horrible but frankly I never rated the guy. Anyway our options for the position are not great and we will have to wait and see what Ole will do.

He should have been replaced in the first team a few years ago, then slowly phased out of the squad altogether. It's baffling why a club of our size and wealth is still starting a converted winger who is shite at crossing at right back. Imagine City or Barcelona or Bayern Munich starting Ashley Young as a full back. Go on, imagine it and try not to laugh.

Doesn't deserve to be our captain. No one in the team has lowest completed passes as him in every game.

We could do with Aaron Bissaka next season.

Disaster. Dodged giving away 2 penalties today. How much longer left of this nonsense?

At this moment I genuinely don't see how Bailly would do worse at RB and he has never really played there . It's mind boggling to me that he keeps getting chances even though he is getting out of position so often and making silly challenges all over the pitch while offering absolutely zilch in attack

I don't think anything makes me groan more often than an Ashley Young punt up to a striker that if we are lucky is cleared out of bounds and we retain possession.
How about when our midfielders pass to him? I dread that, McTominay seems to want to pass to him every time and then Young's leg will kick the ball somewhere that even his own mind questions.

Difference Shaw and Young in possession, Shaw is so calm and keep it simple, know when he needs to pass or keep balls under pressure and always available for passes. We kept a lot of balls on left than on right because Shaw didn't give balls cheaply.

I'm starting to think we should just play Darmian. He can defend at the very least, they offer about the same on the ball.

Interesting that there is zero comment on this thread about the fact that it was one of his long passes that started our first goal...

One of the worst players in the squad and one of the worst fullbacks in the league.

When you try the same thing over and over again for 100 times there is a chance you will succeed once, that's what happened today.

It was a wonder striker from outside the area, I'm not sure Ashley Young can take much credit in that.

His all round game was terrible today as it has been for most of the last 12 months really. We need a new right back.
