ashes 2 ashes series 3 CONTAINS SPOILERS - Don't open if you haven't seen the finale

cant believe ashes to ashes, lost and 24 are all ending within 4 days of each other... there will be no decent telly left!

Wow, it's brilliant. For those talking about the US ending I wouldn't really worry about it, Jim Keats' twitter was taking the piss at that this week.

Nelson's laugh freaks me out, what the feck is that all about?

I also think that wasn't Simm there at the end, I really hope that if Sam is going to appear it has to be John Simm and not another actor.

So then, what do people think? Who's Gene? What do the stars mean?

One thing that I dont get is how they can (if they do) come up with a new ending, because at the end of Life On Mars we basically found out that it was all in Sam's head and he'd indeed been in a comer. So theoretically, this would have to be the same to keep the continuity, no?

final ep tonight...

im looking forward t0 this more than the last ep of lost...

i just hope that they are not on a space ship going to mars on a gene hunt...

please please dont let that happen

Can't wait for tonight's episode its been an absolutely brilliant series so far, really looking forward to the final episode just hope it does the rest of the series justice

What was the whole going in to the pub supposed to symbolise? Heaven?

I genuinly don't know what to make of it. I think I'm too confused.

Yeah! :D
It makes more sense now after reading that!
I still wish we'd seen Sam Tyler in the pub though :(

Just read something saying they half planned to have him coming out of the pub at the end but decided against it cos it would steal all drakes thunder.

would have been a great ending imo.

I think they did a fairly good job of wrapping it all up...

Im now wondering how lost are going to manage to do it...

but Im mostly glad that they were not on a space ship in hyper sleep going on a "gene Hunt" looking for ife on mars...

angles, devil's, ferrymen, dead people heaven hell makes more sence than that!!!

I really liked it, Gene gets killed young and his spirit is so strong he refuses to go away so he creates this world where dead cops come and work under him to feed his ego and keep him going.

Keats, my theory, is the anti-Gene. Sort of like the devil if you will, Gene will try and get them to stay good cops and do their job and go to the pub afterwards, whereas Keats tries to make them turn dodgy with tempting offers.

The pub being a heaven and the lift down with Keats a kind of hell. I really liked it, made you think but at the same time told you the majority of what was going on.

Also liked how Shaz was from the mid 90's.

EDIT: Just read that article from the guardian that says the same as me! Well that was a wasted post hehe.

I read (and posted) that article last night and it was almost the same as I'd interpreted it too - Fab ending to a great Show!

I'm going to miss it though...especially,Gene , Ray and Chris!

I wanted to see Sam in the pub :(
Was Gene Hunt "God" and Jim Keats the "Devil" ?

This is what I thought. Gene was there to direct them to the pub AKA hgeaven, and the other guy wanted to trick them away from it, but Gene didn't seem to always be able to stop him (maybe some Lost-style rules involved stopping him). When the other guy wanted to send them down in an elevator, I took that to be the route to 'Hell'

I thought it was very good actually.....And Keats was brilliant...Clearly the hissing was meant to imply he was the Devil...of sorts

I actually really liked it...Wasn't as confusing as everyone seems to be making it out to be

Also the fact it was made, acted, shot and written very well made it the easier to swallow...Which shows you can pass of the most ridiculous premises if you do it well...something the Lost writers failed spectacularly to do with 6X15

Incidentally I loved that the last line was Gene's first line in Life on Mars...nice touch.

that just reminds me how good lom was... think i might rewatch it all when lost and 24 have finished as there will be no decent tv then...
