Arsenal Sign Andre Santos

Forget about keeping Clichy...he wanted to leave. But how the feck did Wenger let Enrique go to Liverpool when he was available for 6 million?

6 million for a 25 year old proven talent...No thanks.

7 million for a 28 year old brazilian...yes please.

muppets.

There's a freudian erect penis if I ever saw one.

Absolutely awful yesterday and absolutely awful in general. Like feck he's better than Clichy.

I keep seeing 'feck' used in this manner. "get to feck" and "Does he feck". :wenger::wenger:

He really was awful. After a bit of a bright start to his career he's faded miserably.

He has become a whipping boy figure for Arsenal.

Inept, like most of their defenders. But usually singled out.

In fairness he's not just a terrible defender, he's seriously lazy and bizarrely arrogant. One of the strangest signings they've made because he's just never looked any good.

It's a shame this guy shares the same surname with arguably the greatest left back in football history, Nilton Santos. A fecking travesty.

2 months on I still don't know what this statement means.

'Does he feck' is like saying 'does he do it? No he doesn't.' but short hand with swearing if that's what you mean.
Does he play football? Does he feck. etc

As in he is actually shit at football.
I hope this helps.

I really like Wenger and I often defend him, but the signing of this guy is one of his worst ever. I just can't understand how anybody, anywhere, let alone one of the best managers around could think this guy was fit for professional football, let alone Top 4 PL. Struggling to think of worse players in the league. If Gibbs is injured I'd rather play a midfielder at LB. I bet someone like Ramsey or Frimpong could do an equally good (shit) job.

Frimpong is out on loan. Santos is as bad a LB as they come. He is at the most a winger on a very good day. I think Vermalen will play on the left with Kosc and Mertesackerr in the middle for the bigger games. Which might be every game from now for the gooners. Chances for the 4th place cup are diminishing with each subsequent draw/loss.

Their chances of fourth place just improved somewhat.

This is a great decision by them. With Monreal cup-tied, I feared Wenger was going to feed him to Robben next week. He's probably decided he's better off playing Mannone left-back instead, and he wouldn't be wrong.

I've never seen Santos capably handle one winger in his time in England. This includes random Brighton wingers in the cup. Arsenal's defence has generally gone to shit anyway, even by their standards. The other day I saw Jordan fecking Henderson pick the ball up just inside their half and it ended up in their net. Says it all.

Immediately after the Liverpool game Wenger said something like "we have problems in the team that we must get rid of" with an unusual kind of steely belief, and I thought then he was talking about André Santos (and to a lesser extent Arshavin). Not surprised at all to see them ship him off as soon as they got a chance.

He looked like the worst player in the Brazil team in the 2009 Confederations Cup and couldn't make it into Brazil's 2010 World Cup squad - and that team must rank up there as the worst World Cup team in their history. Elano, Felipe Melo and Gilberto in midfield, Fabiano, a half-injured Kaká and a half-arsed Robinho up top...terrible stuff.

No idea what Wenger saw in him.

Robben and Ribery would have had a field day against him.
