Arsenal Sign Andre Santos

Well they need a left back, i've only seem him play for Brazil a couple of times so i can't really comment much but he looked alright.

Reserving judgment.

unconfirmed...currently just a twitter rumour.

Why wasn't that put up in the OP? I thought this was legit not just some twatter.

I thought he looked shit for Brazil during the summer, but he's apparently a good player. One down....

Apparently it's in some Turkish newspapers but that's as official as it is right now.

From the little I've seen he looks to be pretty shoddy defensively but good going forward, as you'd expect from any self respecting Brazilian full back.

He's always looked mediocre at best when I've saw him for Brazil, and the three Brazilian newbies called him a 'ton of crap', 'useless, only in the squad because he has the same agent as the manager' and 'worse than at least 5 left backs in the Brazilian league' so it seems he's not well regarded in his home country.

Maybe he's the new Cafu. Although at that price, he may be more like Decaf.

It's actually not a twitter rumor and has been in every Turkey's major newspaper.

*thinks of crap pun about 'cups'*

I may be wrong but I think Clichy was looking at running down his contract.

Ah, alright. Wasn't happy at Arsenal? I know he had lost form completely but he was pretty good at one point. Maybe wouldn't have made a bad second choice LB.

He made major lapses in too many games. The best scenario was to sell him abroad but City bagged him. The kick up the arse that he needed to get his career back on track perhaps.

I'm just wondering if Arsenal could have provided him with that kick rather than potentially see him get his form back at a rival. Not that I'm building up his abilities.

Peterstorey will call him the best left back in the Premier League in six months time.

If it's overrating Brazilian fullbacks you're after then I think you're confusing me with some random caf muppet.

Well if he's not shit he'll be a step up from Clichy. I've mentioned this in plenty of threads, Wenger will buy a LB, one of Cahill or Jagielka and another creative mid, they'll be a cracking team again by Sept 1st.

He is good at going forward, but he is shit defensively. Even worse than Evra.. I am not sure he can get used to pace of football in PL.

This signing stinks of desperation, but I guess they truly are desperate right now.

For a desperation signing it would appear to be a pretty good one.

But I remember those newbies talking about Santos and the agent. Very strange he was picked for a penalty before so many attacking players.

Still, Jenkinson is a liability, they just need bodies.

Really don't rate Andre Santos. I'm always baffled by him being in the national lineup. Never seen him impress or being slightly good. Then again, Kleber and Gilberto got a lot of games too.
