You are all making really good points, and most of it makes total sense, but Arsenal have been the most consistent team in the Premier League since January 2015. The way you make it out they are a million miles away from winning the Premier League, which isn't true.

Arsenal have looked better than this countless times before but that soft core, you know one which exhibits the weaknesses of their leader will always hold them back. Be it an unjust sending off, a bad injury or something else they will always allow shit to put them off their game and they will do so again because shit happens. They could beat us tomorrow but at the end of the season we will either be close to them or finish ahead of them and we are still short of a title winning side.

They have looked very good at times but not so much at other times, like most teams.

It's fair to say they are not a million miles away no doubt but the difference between consistently finishing 3rd-4th and winning the league in my opinion is huge, i personally don't think Cech alone can bridge that.

They also lack title winning experience in their squad, off the top of my head they only have 3-4 players who have ever won a title. Experience of winning a title can be invaluable in a close run in to ensure your team doesn't bottle it. Which lets be honest Arsenal have form for in recent years.

Wenger doesn't want a "leader" because leaders threaten the authority of the HFIC. He inherited a bunch of leaders, used them up, and moved them on.

Yeah, I didn't really give a feck when we lost to MK Dons. We played a shite team just like they did tonight and these things happen.

This is arsenal, it only takes one result to start the collapse.

Going to stick up for Arsenal here because I have always thought its a nonsense when teams get ridiculed in situations like this

Never understood why people are surprised when a team half full of kids making their debuts and half full of fringe(ish) squad players gets beat by a team of highly paid professionals who play together week in week out and have thousands of games under their belts.

Maybe 25 years ago when football wasn't the slick operation it is now and half of these lower league teams were barely even pro outfits it might have been surprising but not any more.

Not to here to start anything but they started a team yesterday with something close to or little over 1000 PL games between them.
Cech,Gibbs,Debuchy,Mertesacker,Chambers thats a back 5 that should under no circumstances conseed 3 goals vs Wednesday.. In the starting lineup there were only 2 youth players.. Anyway people want to spin this it was a terrible result.

They got rinsed last night with a hybrid first team second team and debutants, Wenger would have expected to win. The injuries if bad will annoy him more than the result though I'd think. But a fair few first team players got a learning last night and a few he's hoping will someday click still havent. Chambers for example.

Who cares about the league cup anyway. Arsenal should be happy they don't have to commit players to this going forward; they might actually have a chance at a decent title challenge this year.

This is a comment by someone who didn't watch the game, tha was a a strong team out out with plenty of regulars and first reamers, no excuses.

Beyond the result, they also lost two key squad players.

It was a terrible night for them whichever way you look at it.

No. It's not a nonsense, it's a banter.

Disregarding my above 'a banter' farce - honestly, how shit would football support be if instead of going "hah, stuffed 3-0 by Sheffield fecking Wednesday you shitc**ts that's proper Arsenal that is" you had to go "well it was a definitely under-strength team fielded by Arsenal including a couple of very raw youngsters and several players clearly suffering from a lack of match fitness. This, in conjunction with Sheffield Wednesday being in good form, is not a particularly shocking result. On the plus side for Arsenal they can now focus on more important competitions while the aforementioned unfit players have got some competitive minutes under their belts"

This sounds lovely

Sheffield Wednesday also had about 3 or 4 starters out. Suprised with how well Carvalhal is doing, considering how difficult the Championship is. Nice run in the league cup as well with Newcastle and now Arsenal eliminated by them.

Yeah, I didn't really give a feck when we lost to MK Dons. We played a shite team just like they did tonight and these things happen.

Our back line was janko vermijil Evans Thorpe and Reece James. Of the 5, 4 were debutants. Arsenals was debuchy chambers mertasacker Gibbs. They are not regulars but are first teamers.

BT were full of praise for how well Arsenal played in the second half... when they were 4-0 down  Bayern just took their foot off the gas.

Thing is, Arsenal aren't nearly as out as everybody is making out.

If they beat Dinamo at home (which they ought to), and Bayern beat Olympiakos at home (as they certainly ought to), then it's a straight shoot-out on the final day... They need to go and beat Olympiakos by 2 goals. Not an easy task but far from impossible, and more-to-the-point, in their own hands.
