Arne Slot | Liverpool manager (Posture and/or Sack Watch)

It's just a shame it's this Arsenal that is 'chasing' them. Don't see them being able to get particularly close even if Liverpool do drop off a bit.

If it was city of the last few years they would be rubbing their hands at this stage.

Starting to show his true colours. The Mr Nuce Guy thing couldn’t last
Just make a couple of bad results. He always look a bit of a d*ck in the touching line in some specific reactions. In general, its easy to be polite when media and refs kiss your as*.

There is a bit of a push on Konate but it was soft. I don't think Konate is in the best position there and it would or should be a stretch for VAR to call that one back, seeing how few are regularly chalked off these days.

I think that is Liverpool FC as a whole, the players are the same.. VVD for example whenever they draw or lose always makes snidey remarks. Its just their mentality when they lose they think its always someone else's fault and become d****.

Would be interesting if they didn't have so many injuries in attack - I think then they might be able to make it more of a race but I fully expect Arsenal to struggle to stay 2nd, let along push for 1st.

Yea, would have liked to have seen how Liverpool react to a bit of pressure in a sticky period. Don't think it will materialise though.

Old City would've said kthxbye about two months ago when Liverpool drew a bunch of games and been well out of sight by now.

shows that they miss that elite mentality and why they lose so many finals and finish runner up most of the time.

fergie, keane et al were horrible losers. it may be my memory failing, but it was always the refs fault or the fa or pl for a fixture pile up. someone was sabotaging us. liverpool just moan about the opposition or the wind or some bullshit that means they can chalk it up to bad luck. it’s not heavy metal football, it’s fair weather football.

I think Liverpool have the more difficult run-in, on paper at least, but seven points is probably still too big of a gap, and Arsenal are probably more likely to drop points unexpectedly anyway.

It'd be just like Arsenal to beat Liverpool at Anfield to close the gap to two points with two games left, only to lose to Newcastle a week later and surrender the title.

Yeah that's total bollocks. Liverpool are currently on 57 points, City after 24 games has had 52, 60, 56, 51, 56, 65 and 49 points in the last 7 seasons.

It's actually the exact opposite, they'd usually be within reasonable distance at this point and then go on an unbelievable winning run to close out the season.

I will never understand why Liverpool fans go on Redcafe and expect sensible takes about Liverpool.

It's like asking me to do a fair and balanced analyses on Antony. Or the city of Amsterdam.
Do the words Liverpool and sensible go together?

Thats their fanbase as well as far as I can tell. I very very very rarely hear a Liverpool fan admit that the opposition beat them fair and square. Its the ref or far more common is that Liverpool were just awful, worst game this season. (for the 5th time...). They cannot fathom that other teams can have any part in the Liverpool show other than to get what they are given by their betters. Couldn't possible have been another team that outmatched them.

Tell you what, if Liverpool did somehow bottle the league after looking like champions elect since November it might even top Crystanbul.

His interviews are entertaining. I thought he'd be a boring guy similar to Ten Hag but he speaks really well and is very confident.

I don't really get "Crystanbul". We effecively lost the league in the prior game against chelsea when rodgers let himself be hoodwinked into trying to win a game he only needed to draw against an opponent that had already parked the bus befoe kickoff.
Crystal Palace was an attempt at a mission impossible of turning over a GD of 12 in two games.

OK, we lost a 3-0 lead in the dying minutes and that's something, but ultimately it had no impact on the the title race.

Ah yes, the famous attacking manoeuvre where one loses the ball near the half-way line and then falls on the floor. Damn you Brendan!

Won a good bit in recent times all the same, and by this logic, I presume you must consider Arsenal to have even less of an elite mentality?

Don't know why Liverpool managers like to talk about united after totally unrelated games... Probably just love the media attention.
Whataboutism 101. You just cocked up your FA Cup campaign fielding a lousy second string, fans must be angry... "but United are crap". Yaaay!

Liverpool are well drilled and the rest of the league isn't as good, I don't think they'll slip at all.

Too much quality all over the pitch.

Arsenal are serial bottlers.

Whenever I've seen Liverpool this season they really haven't impressed me at all.

It feels a bit like our 12/13 season where we weren't great but Robin Van Persie was the difference in so many games and the rest of the league was pretty weak. Obviously replace Salah for RVP for them.

If Liverpool lose Salah and Van Dijk I think they will drop like a stone next season. Especially as they are likely to lose them both on a free. There's nobody out there that can replicate what Salah and Van Dijk do for them and they never seem to spend much money unless they sell a player for a big fee.

That annoyed me last night. "This is their cup final." The absolute arrogance of it. Even if you have those thoughts, keep them in your head rather than announcing them on live TV. It's not a good look, especially when you've just failed to win.

Yeah it's like 'oh look you tried really hard in this game'. Well yes, why weren't you trying to the maximum then Liverpool, maybe you would have won? It's nearly like criticising yourself for an inability to match the intensity of the opponent.

Klopp always loved to spout - only one team wanted to play football or the grass was too tall or the whole of that and that town was in their box - stuff when they'd lose. Of course every time they'd won he was full of praise for the opposing team.

Yeah its just silly to come out and say that for two reasons really.
One, it means the players dont try hard enough unless its a cup final, which means VVD as the captain of the club doesn't know what the game was a derby...
Tells you more about him that he couldn't be arsed to get up for a derby game

Secondly, kind of shows disrespect to Everton who are in a relegation battle so every game is a cup final, should be the same for Liverpool too right? Being in a title race..

Soon you will hear Liverpool fans, players, manager say... every game is a cup final..

Klopp was a real box of excuses in any interview when Liverpool didn't win. The grass was too long, it was too windy, the floodlights was too bright, too many 12:30pm kick off etc...
