ARGH!! No TV shows for a while!?!? F**K, 24 Season 7 Cancelled!

Mother feckers!!!! I've been waiting months for 24 and now this, YOU cnuts. This best not impact The Shield as well or i may very well be on a plane to the US to crack some skulls.

This strike is terrible but at least there is still House MD :D

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that House is affected as well. It's a brilliant show, and it's the only show worth downloading on Wednesdays.

As I'm a sad fecker I too am pretty upset with this strike, I always know what to download the next day. Only Sundays I don't have anything to download.

EDIT: House is not on the list on Wikipedia, yay! And the Shield will be produced as well, yay! Dexter is not on the list either, yay! All episodes of My Name Is Earl is ready too, yay! And Prison Break probably won't be affected either, yay! - but that's only because they always got that big mid-season break anyway, buh!

Not a crisis then, I suppose :D

You are dead to me.

Hayden Panettiere (I"m marrying her) >>>>>>>> Heroes >>>>>>> Prison Break/Dexter >>>>>>>>>>> 24, Lost (except for the first episode which was class) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Spammy

Look on the bright side, you can all use this as an excuse to actually leave the house.

Noticing that most of these posts have been from non-Americans shows how strong the writer's are in this argument.

Hayden Panettiere is severly over-rated imo Lizard King, who knows you may get lucky and she'll do Playboy or porn during the television strike

feck off Alex, she's amazing.

P.s. I love her

You've really got a bad taste mate. Also I think you'd envy me if you knew that I once met her in a film premiere (Letters From Iwo Jima), she was there as a guest I suppose and after the movie I went over to Los Angeles film critic Keneth Turan (who was having a chat with her) to ask his opinion on the film. I mistakenly thought she was Paris Hilton (she looked like her in the dark) and I remember making a joke about her (thinking she's Paris) which turned out to be very silly.

After I was told who she was, I actually had to check IMDb as I had no clue who she was.

All respect for you has now been lost, solely down to that view of 24.
It would please me if you accidentally managed to hang yourself with barbed wire.

Without wanting to go off topic (but I suppose I can seeing I started this darn thread)

How dare you rate that pile of garbage called Heroes and/or Prison Break ahead of 24!?

Definitely give The Wire a go, it's possibly the best TV show for me.

LOST S1 is class indeed, S2 and S3 would be a major step down though.
Prison Break Epis 1-13 is one of the best TV I have seen. Rest of S1 was ok but I was bitterly disappointed with S2 and have stopped watching it now.

Season 3 is getting it back onto track. Been a class season so far.

Woohoo!!!! House not affected!! Dexter not affected!!!

As for Prison Break I think they might be affected. Besides, almost all shows has that break in the middle, a 1-2 month one. Even Heroes has one. But like I posted the Heroes thread, they're shooting an alternate ending that might be the season finale if this isn't resolved soon.

I just read that for House MD is affected with only 12 episodes out of the 24 in production, that leaves us 6 more episodes. Seems to be conflicting news regarding House, I wonder what is the real scenario.

House will be effected as will any show that started its season in October, Dexter only has a dozen episodes a season so will be fine, it will all get very shit in January when everything is supposed to return after Chirstmas

David Shore explains writers strike will affect House too.
Will the Writer’s Strike affect House? That all depends on how long it goes on. The last writer’s strike in 1988 went on for five months. If that happens, House will DEFINITELY be affected. David Shore explained that they’ve got some scripts to last them awhile, but that if the strike goes on, House will have some problems.

He said that, should the writer’s strike go on for any length of time, he may play reruns of House and save the new episodes for sweeps (NOT FAIR SHORE!).

“I will work as a producer for as long as we have stuff to produce,” Mr. Shore said. “I won’t be working as a writer. That means we won’t have any new scripts coming along. As I see it, should there be a strike, we won’t have any choice but to shut down shortly after.”

Pray people - pray for it to get worked out so that we don’t have to suffer through reruns for another three months!

Bugger!
They better fix it soon!

The writer's union is never going to give in and the networks are obviously going to have to relent in the end. It seems like a pointless stand of stubborn pride to force the public to endure a protracted but predictable game of chicken.

Blame greed.

Also, get out of the house a bit, or read a book. Reading is that thing you do to see what actors are in the show when they put the letters on the screeen.

I read as much as I watch those shows, doesn't stop me mourning the loss though!

i only hope lost is not delayed cant fecking wait for S4 i have all 3 seasons with me in dvd...i preferred S2 the most till now

Whilst I'm annoyed that almost all of the class TV programs out there have either been cancelled/postponed (24), or will end halfway through a season (Heroes, Scrubs), I fully endorse what the Writer's Guild are doing.

I don't mind waiting six months for a program I like to reappear if it means that the people who actually make it get some money for it, rather than the television executives who do feck all and make billions.

I do mind, we all pay tv licenses, subscribe to satellites, networks etc

these writers all know the score when they start work, they all sign their contracts stating the terms and conditions. If they dont like their pay, get a different job like the rest of us have to do. Personally, id kill to be a writer with regular work.

it stands to sense that the networks should make the most money as they are the ones that stump up the money to produce and air the shows, hire top actors etc to make the scripts good.

the writers guild need to get a fecking grip

Wrong.

This has not come about to increase the pay as such.
Soon Networks will start to make a lot of money from webcasts of TV shows, as it stands writer have no share in that income.

so what? if they dont like it, change job

the networks own the rights, the writers happily sign those rights to their work over when they accept the money cheques in return

Again not that simple. They are demanding royalty payments over their work being distributed by Network, which is a very common practice.

The writers really have all the power here, its kind of stupid with the money the corporations are making to not give into them because this is gonna hurt the bottomline a lot more than just giving them their money which they are gonna do sooner or later

Can we not have a Heroes meets 24 and Hayden Panettiere and Elisha Cuthbert have a red hot lesbian scene for the entire episode?
