WTF is happening ..I never knew this strike would become this big..

24 Season 7 Cancelled!!

The OFfice closes down!

Grey's Anatomy stops shooting..

This is just the beginning..
It's like a fecking NIGHTMARe coming true!

Some more tv shows that i Don't watch being affected too, including Lost, Heroes, Desperate Houswives etc...Not sure how many of those you people watch. I'm sure there's more shows!

I'm fecking pissed!

If this happens to Lost as well, I'll kill myself.

If this delays The Wire, 24 and Lost, I'll actually go on a rampage through the streets of London. Naked.

If this does delay those programs further, I'll torch all of the Zoo's in England.

I'll free all of the animals first of course. I love animals.

As long as it's not cancelled. I need to have Lost though, and it looks like they are going to air Lost at the normal time which is good.

Honestly I'm just starting to realise how big an effect this will have..TV Shows are what my life revolves around (After United that is!)

Let's put it this way
I'd rather have my balls squashed in a heated sandwich maker, and a needle sent into my penis hole than live without TV Shows for a whole week!!

I'd say just watch porn instead, but after a week there'd be a huge risk of chafing. Heartless fiend writers

Not that I watch any of these shows on TV, mind

All the shows you guys mentioned are unfortunately affected. Some of them have half season episodes done but not all. I heard that next week's or the following week's episode is going to be the last until next April, Heroes is shooting an alternate ending and for Lost fans, they are showing the few episodes that are already in production.
This strike is terrible but at least there is still House MD :D

You guys are sad. I watch these TV shows a lot, and watch almost every show mentioned in this thread and many more. But I'm sure I can easily go a year without them.

You could spend some of this time away from your computer/TV maybe?

The last strike took about 22 weeks to settle. So what are the chances of this going on that long??

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- While writers picket in Hollywood and New York, the impact of a strike entering its fourth day was being felt beyond the east and west coasts.

In Louisiana, crews on the set of "K-Ville," a Fox police drama set in post-Katrina New Orleans, were filming the last episode written before the strike.

"I hope it ends soon," co-star Cole Hauser said Wednesday in between takes. "I think it's too bad for this show. I think we were just starting to get on a roll, and hopefully the writers and the studios will figure it out in the next 30 days to a month and a half."

The strike was also playing havoc with another show on Fox's schedule. In a press release, the network announced that "24's" premiere, set for January, was "being postponed to ensure that [the seventh season] can air uninterrupted, in its entirety."

Meanwhile, writers returned to the picket lines after their strike forced at least eight prime-time shows, including the popular NBC sitcom "The Office," to halt production. Watch stars join writers on the picket lines »

No new negotiations have been scheduled on the main sticking points between writers and producers: payments from DVDs and shows offered on the Internet.

One of the largest rallies Wednesday occurred outside the gates of the Disney studio in Burbank. About 60 people, including a number of powerful producer-writers known in the industry as "showrunners," joined the protest, even though the networks expected many of them to report to work as managers during the strike.

Among them was Greg Daniels, executive producer of the "The Office," who said filming stopped on the show after star Steve Carell refused to cross picket lines. Writers and actors from the show used their time on the picket line to make a video and post it on YouTube.

Sally Field, who won the best actress Oscar in 1979 for the pro-union film "Norma Rae," left the set of her ABC show, "Brothers & Sisters," to visit strikers outside the Disney lot.

Writers "are not being allowed to participate in the future of the business," Field said. "This can be a very lucrative field, but also incredibly insecure for all of the artists, writers, actors and directors."

At a Los Angeles studio, the cast of the ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy," which joined writers on a picket line, said they were shooting scenes for their last scripted episode.

Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, T.R. Knight, Justin Chambers, James Pickens Jr., Sara Ramirez, Eric Dane and Katherine Heigl spent their lunch breaks outside the Prospect Studios, where "Grey's" is filmed.

"We're supposed to be going until the end of May and right now our last shooting day will be Tuesday or Wednesday," Knight said. "As actors, we're paid a different way than the writers, but there's also the crew to keep in mind. They are out of work as of next Wednesday."

The strike began Monday after last-minute negotiations failed to produce a deal. The Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers said no new talks had been scheduled. Neither group offered further comment Wednesday.

Production of at least seven sitcoms has been halted because of the strike, and the hit ABC drama "Desperate Housewives" was scheduled to finish filming its latest episode because it had run out of scripts.

Along with "The Office," sitcoms that will stop the cameras include "Back to You," "The New Adventures of Old Christine." "Til Death," "Rules of Engagement," "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory."

Networks were expected to announce plans for alternative programming in the coming days.

The strike immediately brought repeats of late-night comedy shows, but it was not expected to have an immediate impact on production of movies. Most studios have stockpiled dozens of movie scripts, and many TV shows have scripts or completed shows in hand to last until early next year.

Writers have not gone on strike since 1988, when the walkout lasted 22 weeks and cost the industry more than $500 million.

Blame greed.

Also, get out of the house a bit, or read a book. Reading is that thing you do to see what actors are in the show when they put the letters on the screeen.

Stargate Atlantis not canceled, Battlestar Galactica - season 4 should run without a problems, too.

WTF is happening ..I never knew this strike would become this big..

24 Season 7 Cancelled!!

I'm fecking pissed!

Bollocks, feck and shit.
What the feck is the reasoning behind this?! I've been waiting for this all shitting year!
Trust this to happen just after i watch the friggin' trailer and find out Tony is alive! Wankers, the lot of them.
feck.

24 is boring anyway...yeah that's right, I said it.

Anyone who thinks 24 is boring deserves a suffering death. Hope Jack manages to torture you with both his methods and farmaceutical method.

Speaking in the capacity of somebody who has seen every episode of 24 and who has been religiously reading any rumour about 24 in the past few days, Season 7 could be the climax and the best season of the show. But unfortunately, only 7-8 episodes are finished, which means the strike will probably effect the show and delay it.

I don't really realise what those cnuts want anyway, the writers get paid well and accordingly*. Fecking cocksuckers.

On a personal note, I just began to watch Lost (have seen only 3 episodes of S1 so far) and it looks fecking amazing. I really can't wait until tomorrow night to watch a few more episodes (I almost finished downloading S1, the evil in me won't spend money to buy the DVD). So I guess by the time I get to S3 of Lost, the strike will hopefully be over. If not, I could always get into The Wire or Prison Break.

*I could be completely of the mark with that comment.

Definitely give The Wire a go, it's possibly the best TV show for me.

LOST S1 is class indeed, S2 and S3 would be a major step down though.
Prison Break Epis 1-13 is one of the best TV I have seen. Rest of S1 was ok but I was bitterly disappointed with S2 and have stopped watching it now.

Plenty of people have recomended The Wire to me, it's just that since Lost has only 3 seasons, I thought I'd better get it out of the way first.

As for Prison Break, I went with a friend of mine toa few car saloons today as I'm looking to buy a new one, and on our way back, the cnut basically told me everything that happens in Prison Break, to the point that he was describing even certain scenes. I still have an interest though.
