Are we ambitious enough?

I would have thought that sacking LVG the day after winning silverware for serial winner Mourinho would be better kept in mind, and perhaps have held off this particular line of criticism for a few more years.

Is this the current line of attack agin because we can’t moan about the transfer spend under the Glazers with a straight face right now?

That's not ruthless when the season was finished after only being 5th in the league

We've turned into arsenal.

We'll be scrapping for europa spots in a year or two. Let newcastle start splashing the money and see us frozen out of CL.

In another decade we'll be a mid table side, we ain't winning anything until 2050 atleast.

Are we ambition enough. Is that seriously a question? NO WAY!!!
We aren't even as ambitious as Spurs.

Yeah well, Klopp is taken (took him a while for a trophy at Lpool).
Pep is taken.

We could have gone Nagelsmann, Bayern took him.

Conte? Meh.
Poch? Not convinced.

Our player recruitment in the last 4 windows is pretty ambitious.
Its our coaching department that needs upgrading. We all know it.

It's just....there isn't a clear man for the job.

And there is a thin line in constantly changing managers and not changing them enough...we just need to find it.

But i'd say we have ambition, at least some of our players do. And that's what counts, having winners in your Squad.

Nope.

They only care about winning so much as it affects their bottom line and there’s diminishing returns after CL qualification. They care about building the brand and securing global partners. The football has been secondary for a long time.

It's not about ambition as we spend shitloads of money but professionalism since we're run like a family business holding on to impractical virtues and old ideas, whilst not emphasizing on excellence. We dream big, we execute poor.

We are ambitious and incompetent.
Yes to the latter, but I still remember a time when a whole summer would be hell and the general feeling was that we couldn’t wait for the football to be back because we finished 2nd in the league. Nowadays it’s celebrated as an achievement, by large part of the fan base, not just the club.

I don’t get the sense that there’s a burning desire from top to bottom to compete, to be the best. For all of the attempts at aping Fergie’s way, that’s conspicuously missing. Gone is the day when we would win the CL and the next day the manager would have player started working again for the next season.

Is this thread a joke? We hired a P E teacher and gave him 3 years and 400m to spend. The match going fans are also on board and happy to clap to shithouse performances week in and week out.
No, neither matchgoers nor the board have the ambitions of a top club. It’s mediocre mentality at its best.
