Still haven't won a trophy of note. You can understand Utd fans being thirsty, they were having caviar and desserts coated wth gold before, now they are having to make do with Mcdonalds.
MBS will probably build an ultramodern stadium with 100k+ seating capacity, clear out the debt, buy world class players in positions necessary and turn us into a dominant force, seeing that he is atleast 20-30 times richer than Mansour, if reports about his estimated wealth are to be believed. None of this top 4 nonsense, and handing out contracts to past it players like young. I don't get why football fans are bringing politics into this. None of Saudi Arabia's issues directly affects any of us. The UK certainly isn't affected.
You don't see any of the UK media (or anyone) coming up with questions like 'Yes, City romped to 100 points last season, but should we question the human rights situation in Abu Dhabi'. The Der Speigel(or was it Bild) leaks did nothing. Everything just moved on. You have literally every damn journalist and our own fans salivating about the style of football that city play. Yeah, we say that they are plastics or whatever, but we all know that sooner or later they are coming for our league title count. Last year's defeat at Old trafford showed the gulf in class between city and us. They were taking the piss out of us in the last few minutes and we couldn't do a damn thing.
We are hoping every year for chelsea, city or fecking spurs( what were they even before 2015) to beat liverpool, when we should be extending the lead over them in the number of league titles . The glazers were lucky that they inherited Sir Alex as the manager who could replace CR7 with Antonio fecking Valencia and still win league titles. We have lost our way as a club where emphasis is placed on dividends and 'branding' more than what goes on the fecking pitch. You have a club like PSG, coming to Old Trafford and humiliating us and have their fans coming to our forum and saying 'Take the L'. PSG, a nothing club before Qatar acquired it. Now none of our players(except Pogba and De gea) would get into their squad. We are so far away from the elite that I find it incomprehensible how other fans don't see it.
To all saying, 'I would stop supporting the club if the Saudi Prince acquires the team', I pose this question: Did you start supporting United in the 70's and 80's? Because Liverpool were the dominant team back then. Most of us(at least the overseas fans) would have started following the club in the 90's and the 2000's, because we were the team to beat, we had keane, scholes, beckham, giggs, ruud, CR and Rooney and we were winning. So, I don't want to hear none of this 'Oh, so you only care about winning' shite. The more important question is why shouldn't we?
