Appointing Solskjaer was a mistake

When someone is not up to the job you boot him and learn from that experience. I hope we learn from the current experience and don’t appoint a nobody with the task of monumental rebuilding job.

If not we’re idiots simple as.

Your really up for 5 managers in 6 years?

It just gives the players more excuses for failure, what needs to happen is everyone of these pricks getting a rocket up their arse especially the messiah pogba for some on here.

So are the people who think we shouldn’t back Ole, genuinely saying it would be a good idea to sack him now?

Surely not, no one is that stupid?

Yes I’d rather have 5 managers in 6 seasons than Moyes for 6 seasons.

United is a top club. If there is no positivity or plan for the future and results to back it up - off you go.

I’m more positive with ole than the last 3 pricks, I just don’t like most of the team unfortunately.

Yes - same Klopp. Klopp, despite the bad season was one of the most sought after managers at the time. Isn’t that correct?

He joined a Liverpool side that hadn’t won anything in years and had constantly missed out on top 4 even.

No doubt Klopp was highly rated but there were question marks due to his season at Dortmund.

Jose had won the league a few months before he was fired at Chelsea. The same Chelsea who are nutritious for having a abysmal season after winning the league no matter who the manager was.

Jose was above Klopp at the time, it wasn’t even a comparison.

He was a mistake but it’s too late now. A new manager won’t be able to fix our issues with the restraints Woodward would put on him.

It wasn’t plain as day we didn’t recruit enough quality in the summer.

If that’s Solskjaer putting faith in Lingard and co then he should be kicked out the door. The club is rotten.

I guess people are now understanding the Amadaeus assessment that I was ridiculed for in the Ole thread .

It is not too late to sack him now, it will show conviction from our board for success. However, if his replacement is not Pochettino or maybe someone like Erik ten Hag, he deserve at least one season to buy his own players and implement his philosophy. Maybe get us back to how we were during honeymoon period.

Erik Ten Hag would never work with the players we have. He would probably do wonders at Barcelona, but the very strict total football / tiki taka that he uses requires players that have had it drilled into them from a very young age.

Back the manager. Back the team. If we're nowhere near top 4 at Xmas then act. Until then, can we all shut up winging and give this young team a bit of time to gel!

We could easily have 9 points this evening if we slotted home a couple of pens. Fine margins and all that.

My point was that Klopp was a top manager and one of the best in the game at that point which made him one of the most sought after. One half of a season didn’t change that, correct?

I would like to see us sack a manager ever 3 days going forward. Keep everyone on their toes, keep the ideas fresh.

72 hours and you are out.

Can I just say this? Sometimes things just click and sometimes they dont. For all the talk.of vision and planning, I bet not even Klopp could have predicted Mane and Slah's rise especially Salah. Obviously he waswa top player but his previous season at Roma wasnt wasnt as great as his Liverpool ones.

Does that mean teams should not plan? No. But all one can hope for is that teams learn from past mistake and get lucky with new hires clicking.

I don't know know what to say anymore. We've won 3 of our last 17 competitive games in all comps. That's relegation form.

If Ole had never played for us he'd not have made the top 100 candidates for Jose's replacement.

What a mess this potentially is becoming. The appointment was rushed and IMO given to someone, who wasn’t qualified for such a big job.

But given who he is, you try and hope it all works out but after an underwhelming summer (at best) either he wasn’t backed or he truly is happy with the squad (seems unlikely), no DoF to help out was recruited and the trajectory we’re on would have us miss out on the CL again. We’ve gone through several managers recently and for all their faults, Mourinho and LVG have stellar CV’s and that wasn’t enough. Not sure changing the manager does much, the club is just rotting...I’m not even angry with result today, it’s just a travesty how the club is being run into the ground.

Pretty much.

There has never been 1 singular main problem at the club.

It's a myriad of things.

The owners, Woodward, the managers we've appointed, certain players, etc.

And yet every time it's only the manager who keep getting the sack. This is the 4th manager who fans want to leave surely things must be beyond the manager now.

Ed and whoever is in charge of our transfer policy should be the first to go. Ole got nothing to do with them being incompetent in the transfer market, failing to replace players in key positions (Herrera, Lukaku) and thicken our squad so that we won't have to resort to deadwood such as Young and Mata or academy kids after every injury.

And yet every time it's only the manager who keep getting the sack. This is the 4th manager who fans want to leave surely things must be beyond the manager now.

Well Ole will need to surely improve this run we are on because not even Moyes did this bad. To be on a 3 wins in 15 games run is relegation form.

Glazers and Woodward are going nowhere it seems.

Everything this club does football wise is a mistake.

It's a great corporation, though. I bet pre-season gave Glazers some new clients.

It is. But you can’t sack the owner or his right hand man.

When a football club doesn’t perform on the pitch who is the first to go ? Isn’t that how every pro club operates?

Doing nothing is always the worst thing to do. You can’t expect a change without putting an effort to change it.

And that is why I completely believe irrespective of who the manager is we will continue to beat around the bush. We have no system, why would a pochetino come and manage us. Do you think he is a fool? We are just a big club on paper but are run by fools. Problem is beyond ole and that is why I hate threads like these. Some are saying let us appoint allegri. Seriously another defensive manager. Do you trust the same fans to back allegri after we win 1-0 considering they hated Jose for doing the same when we finished 2nd. Till we have a footballing guy who take footballing decision we will be the same.

Ok let us sack ole. But do you seriously believe any other top manager will be willing to work in this setup. Ole's record has been bad but the lack of transfers this summer was astounding. Till we have an incompetent CEO running things we won't improve by much

We are a club that has been run on the footballing side by the manager for three decades. Have somehow people forgot that?

We don’t have a DoF and until we have the manager will be the most important figure that can improve us on the pitch.

There is no other sir alex. The sooner we realise the better. He was one off. Pep has the backing of city's board, Klopp has backing of their board who knows what he wants. Again I am talking beyond Ole. People thinking just sacking Ole will make us a top team, if it was that easy then we would have been in a better position by now.

I’m not saying get someone like Sir Alex. I’m saying the manager is the most competent one that we have on the footballing side give our structure. And considering that if we get a good one and appropriate one he’s the most probable one to improve us rather than improve 2-3 positions at the time.

Klopp and Pep were world class managers before appointed and were backed - I’m saying do just that.

I mean Woodward won't sack himself.

Like who? The only options that come to my mind are
Poch: why would he leave spurs and join this mess. And even if he joins it would not be an instant fix. It will take time. Are our fans ready to give time to him.

Allegri: another defensive manager..Considering how we have craved for attacking football what makes you believe fans will back him.

Tuchel: I like him but he is also a level below your klopps and peps.

I cannot think of any other so called world class.manager than can save us right now.

I agree although Ole is obviously not a top manager yet but replacing him soon will be just a rinse and repeat. This is why for me it’s much more worrying, I honestly do not believe we will win a league again if the current regime stays the same, be it 5 or 10 more years. The likes of City with their owners and wealth can easily reach our 13 titles in the next 12 years as they will just continue to buy the best players and success.

I mean Woodward won't sack himself.
And that's why it is wierd how the glazers out bandwagon only exists in July August but then they become after thought and we all unify to get the manager sacked as if that will take us to the next level.

We should get Mourinho then.

All of those are better options than what we have at the moment.

Stick with guys like Moyes or Ole for 6 years is better?

Why shouldn't he get the blame? We did not lose to a top team, we lost to Crystal Palace who lost their RB to us and didn't replace him at all, things have gone sour with their best player, they bought lesser players than others (compared to other midtable teams). OGS should take the blame for this defeat.

He's put his team in position to win all three league games thus far. He left the subs late against Wolves and that's pretty much the real only negative for him through 3 matches.

He can't take penalties, he can't control VAR or the refs, he can't do everything for his players on the pitch. His players have failed to execute and do their job the past two matches which has resulted in 1 pt out of 6.

DDG fecked up again at the end. Ole couldn't make a third tactical sub due to Shaw being injured even if Young did well going forward. Zaha twisted and turned him a few times, but nothing came of it.

The ref, VAR and the players should be under the microscope, not Ole.

All of those are better options than what we have at the moment.

But you didn't answer my question why would Poch die working for us. Do you think he is a fool? You are seriously underestimating the mess created by woodward and co. It's not that simple. Hey let us appoint poch and we will become awesome. We said the same when lvg was here, let us sack lvg we will look great, we said the same when Jose was here and now we are doing the same.Surely we have to be smarter than this.

Erik Ten Hag would never work with the players we have. He would probably do wonders at Barcelona, but the very strict total football / tiki taka that he uses requires players that have had it drilled into them from a very young age.

We have some players that can adhere to the total football philosophy implemented by Erik Ten Haag. Gomes, Rashford, Martial, Pogba, Lindelof, Greenwood, Chong, Maguire, Awb, Shaw and few other can easily learn this philosophy. It might not be what they are used to, but I believe these players have the technical ability to learn it.

Regardless, the fact is that if we had gotten Ten Haag earlier, this summer we would have been used to buy those players that can adapt to that philosophy. He has a much better philosophy than Ole and even though there will be question mark towards how he adapts to England, the United fan will know that we have a manager with a philosophy similar to Pep that will be attractive to watch. No one is interested in zombie football. I like Ole, but as a tactician, I m not a fan of his.

Well we should have hired a DOF like the original plan after Mourinho left and then waited until the end of the season for making a decision on Ole. But no, Woodward and the clown family have to hire him when we on a losing streak when there was no rush to. Wasn’t like Barca were knocking on Oles door.

It’s no coincidence every single signing Klopp has made has worked out for them. They identify players properly which is something we clearly haven’t done since Ferguson. Maybe this summer it changed but Maguire and AWB were hardly unknowns.

Yes we stick with Ole and yes plenty not cutting it (with the exception of Daniel, he works his socks off no rocket required he is one). But surely Pogba really could be that player if he stopped and thought about it. A potentially amazing player who could leave a proper legacy at this club. If he wants. Honestly, I think it is a simple choice for him. But has he got the character? Not convinced.
