Appointing Solskjaer was a mistake

It’s the players, they’re shite. The attitude and work rate is laughable, they’ve fecked up though because we know they can do it, we saw them playing like fecking Barcelona on crack for 4 weeks then the work rate dropped and our results have followed.

Put Poch or Klopp at the helm for 2 months and we’d be in the same shape.

Until we gut the entire squad, including Pogba we’ll be the same way.
This... Every word.

Absolute nonsense. You do realise we've lost 6 of our last 8 matches. During his time here We've been dumped out of cups and the top 4 race. He's outperformed nobody.

We knocked Arsenal and Chelsea out if the FA cup. We've comfortably outperformed them and also Spurs in the league since Ole took over.

We are struggling right now because the players have ran out if steam due to not being fit enough to sustain it.

I am 100% behind Ole, However his tenure is doomed unless the structure of how the club is run changes.

They need to let himself and Mick Phelan make the football decisions for a while. That's it as far as I'm concerned

Ole is most certainly the right choice for now because the only suitable candidate for the job (Pochettino) was not available.

Ole will bring in Fergie type players, will play the right way and at least if he fails then the new DOF will have a year or two to search for the right candidate, who will inherit hopefully a young hungry team ready for the next level, if Ole fails.... Which I think he won't.

Yeah I guess we can change the manager and see if it goes. I mean it's not that we tried that already and that many problems we are witnessing right now haven't already occurred before. He does deserve a transfer window and a good one. Insisting on just changing managers without looking at the bigger picture is burying your head in the sand.
To think some were afraid fans won't turn on him cause he's a legend. It sounds so funny right now given how quickly fans turned on him, at least here.
Since when have I said we only need to change the manager and our problems will go away? We need a complete overhaul from top to bottom and I need majorly convincing to put my faith in a rookie to oversee it.

I am looking at the bigger picture. To me, it's looking increasingly likely with every passing week that Ole is not up to it. We look abysmal right now. I don't know how you can have blind faith that suddenly, everything will change in the summer.

I don't care who they are, if they're not up to scratch then we need to be ruthless. There's no place for sentimentality here if we want to claw our way back to the top.

Ole is fine and good, but we still have the small problem with the actual owners of the club., or in other words our main problem.

I’m not a fan the the Glazers or Woody but you can’t say the club hasn’t spent money.

They have just spent it terribly.

And when the one who decides if Ole is the problem is not up to scratch, what then? Or when players don't give a shit?

The only reason we are in a top 4 race in the first place is because of him. Out of the last 17 premier league games, only City and Liverpool have more points than us so perhaps get your facts straight.

Ole will like the others will be very likely a Managerial disappointment. He has no support from the Hierarchy in terms of being entrusted with total authority and assisted with canny footballing decisions. He will have to perform a miracle.

I wish him luck. Were we right to hire Ole? no idea in this context. But we were wrong not to fire Woodward.

I know we're all venting after such an abject display and the players really have to look at themselves. However, remarkably, with only four games to go we are still only three points from third! If only our run ciyld have continued for a couple of extra games we'd have been there. A lot further away under Mourinho.

winning run = Ole is working wonders
losing run = it’s not Ole’s fault. it’s the players

“Ole has got the recipe and it’s dependant on running and out working the opposition”

>since Ole has been in charge United has only covered more distance than the opposition on 2 occasions

some things aren’t adding up

That's mainly because you had a very easy run of games at the start of Ole's tenure. As soon as the calibre of teams faced went up, United collapsed.

Tactically he got it wrong today, beyond the players being garbage.

Yeah playing Spurs was easy, you’re correct.

Well that's the million dollar question. But we all know Woodward is going nowhere, so it's a moot point.

We need a structure in place that transcends each individual manager. I believe that Woodward/the board are the biggest problems we are facing right now.

They are handcuffing us from even attempting to rebuild properly. As Ole's presser on Friday stated, when he said everyone deserves a second chance at pre-season.

I don't buy into the lazy players narrative though. All players want to win. If they are properly motivated and believe in the project, then everything will fall into place and they will give everything for the cause.

What we are facing right now are disillusioned players caused by a lack of a plan/direction by the club years in the making.

The majority are not good enough and need replacing but I don't blame the players at all.

Now, if it turns out Ole is out of his depth. Then regardless of our current problems, we should look to replace him because it will only get worse from now on. The players will be able to smell it, our best players will jump ship and we will have one hell of a job trying to convince players to even come to us. As the time with Moyes taught us.

That's what I'm concerned about. A repeat of the Moyes period occurring.

You're a tool. Stay out of the United forum. If we want updates on seat width at the new stadium we'll give you a shout

Yeah playing Spurs was easy, you’re correct.

United were very, very lucky to win that game. 9 times out of 10, given the balance of play, United would lose that game.

Fact is there is a rotten core at this club. I cant help but think that pogba is central to it. Sell the lot of them. Pogba, martial, lukaku, matic. None of them have the drive to play for this club

Well you said it yourself, Ed won't go anywhere so even if we change the manager nothing will change. Don't expect a proper structure or a plan anytime soon.

They have spent cash for sure, but the idiot Woodward has spent it foolishly

We can all agree on that!

We can also mostly agree that this summer United will waste many more millions again.

It’s long term planning that’s needed...the blame game between, is it the manager, is it the players, is getting the club nowhere and every fan is hurting.

For every position in the team, the scouts should have 2-3 players pencilled in that could replace them for any number of reasons.

DDG has been on the verge of leaving for many summers, but I doubt anyone at the club has spoke about possible replacements.

No one is bigger than the club but United NEED to try and wrestle the power away from the players and give a little more to the manager.

Let's have it right, if someone said this time 8 months ago Phelen would be technical director/ dof and Ole would be manager, you would have laughed.

Once again - the manager is not the problem: the club is rotten from the top. Until something changes there - there isn't a manager on the planet who could fix it (properly).

And when the one who decides if Ole is the problem is not up to scratch, what then? Or when players don't give a shit?
Well the answer is we need to get a structure in place that can address these issues.

That was apparently the plan after Jose was fired, we were bringing in a club legend to manage the club for a few months, while we conduct a search for a director of football, who would then conduct a manager search and the together they would assess the squad.

That is what should of happened, unfortunately that isn't what happened, we fell into the trap lots of clubs have and appoint their caretaker manager after a great initial run, throwing out what was the correct plan of action for a knee jerk reaction of hiring a manager at christmas nearly everyone agreed was under qualified for the job.

Yes we were, your players missed some right sitters that day. None more so than Kane which was fortunate.

I agree. Ole tactically surprised Poch that 1st half, but one of the critisicims I've held since then, is that we haven't seen any more fresh ideas from Ole since that game. It's all been very negative. If I was seeing more evidence of stuff like that, then I wouldn't be so quick to believe that we've just got found out over time.

Why are opposition fans who like to wum

That was just Ed saying what fans wanted to hear. Of course he never intended to change anything.

You’re a complete cumbucket.

I’ll take the ban. Go on, accommodate this wanky forum.
:) Why? I didn’t say we shouldn’t hire Ole, just that it was smarter to not make such a rash decision and waited a bit. Had we not jumped the gun, the decision on whether we should hire Ole would be clearer. I also did say, that it is not too late to sack Ole and that is true as well. If these performances continues, fans who loves this club would actually agree to such a conclusion.
