Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Painkiller was really good but because Dopesick came out first, its gotten sidelined.

Finally started watching the Sandman on a plane ride and I'm hooked. I held off for a while bc there were shows getting more of my attention but now 4 episodes in - it's way better than I expected. Pleasantly surprised too by the caliber of some of the actors they were able to get, even for what seems like relatively minor roles. Only thing that cheapens it for me is the voice they chose for the raven.

The first five episodes were brilliant i thought. The rest of it became a bit woke. Still good though.

Thought "The Offer" based on the making of the Godfather was fantastic. Not sure how much truth is in it but the acting and characters were great.

Not a fan of Franzese but as someone who was around at that time he has some stuff to say on The Offer's accuracy here (skip the first 2 mins to avoid the grift):

Anyone know if the new One Piece is an actual adaption of the anime version that had 15 seasons? I think I may just follow the anime show after I'm done with season one of the netflix one, it's cheesy and a bit silly but I'm enjoying it.
Probably just cause I haven't watched something for the last month or 2.

I gave up after Axelrod was taken out the series. Probably should give the last 2 seasons a try but I'm not sure I'd like it.
Don’t watch the last two, I’m on the fence about finishing the show altogether. One of the posters on another thread about Billions made a great point about the script writing that it seems like ChatGPT wrote the script, it’s that bad.

When that happened the show nose dived and has struggled to recover since then. Even when that spoiler reversed itself the quality has been poor. I feel like I’ve wasted so much time investing in the show just for it to collapse spectacularly.
I do still have hope the rest of the season picks up, each episode is more boring than the preceding one.

While I'm enjoying Ax's return, the rest of the new season has been meh. But because I've watched it all through the seasons, I'll finish this too.

Im still hopeful of the first few episodes being filled episodes and it takes a turn for the good. Looking at IMDB ratings for the latest episode it seems it’s improved a lot. I will finish it myself because I will have this unresolved conflict inside myself that forces me into it.

Cheers. She was hovering the pointer over that about 10 mins ago so I'll need to lock something else in here for a few seasons instead.
I can suspend a certain amount of disbelief in a show but this one's a stretch. I thought I'd like it bur am struggling to finish it.

Has there ever been a more lame beginning to a show than in Lincoln Lawyer, where the guy is on the phone to his ex-wife and then they hang up and it flashes up 'First wife' on his phone and he starts talking to a different woman?

Started watching "Our Flag Means Death". Midway through S1, I really want to like it, great cast, great premise, but... it's just a bit dull. It's supposed to be a comedy but it's not particularly funny despite starring Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi. Anybody else watching, does it get better?

I was massively anticipating this. Reviews were so bad that I didn't even give it a try. Such a shame given the talent involved.

Same, and I'd heard a lot of bad things about it but gave it a go anyway. I also lost a bit of enthusiasm when I learned it was a HBO show. I can't remember the last time I liked a HBO comedy. Eastbound and Down maybe, 10+ years ago.

I’ve watched the first 7 episodes of the first season of The Bear. It’s disappointing so far after all the good things I’d heard about it. Does it get better?

I thought it was decent, second season was better I’d say out of the two, lots of cameo appearances throughout and some hilarious stories told. Not everyone’s taste and it’s not something I would watch again, good comfort viewing or background noise I’d rate it as.

If you're that far in I'd say you have the measure of it. There are some payoffs in terms of heartwarming moments, but it won't suddenly get funnier.

The Days on Netflix about Fukushima. Love these types of shows. But they get so drawn out and overly dramatized. The Chernobyl one was much better?
Btw did the russian version of Chernobyl get released?

Why is that lame when he is talking to his second ex-wife, hangs up and is called by his first ex-wife?

Late to the game on this but binge watching Jack Ryan. I was a big fan of the Tom Clancy books and I like how they have made the themes and characters from those 80s and 90s books contemporary. On Season 3 which is OK so far, Season 1 & 2 were excellent.

I know I'm behind, but just watched The Dropout starring Amanda Seyfried. Really liked it!

Also watching The Clearing and Under the Banner of Heaven on Disney. If you like a bit of psycho thriller.
Under the Banner of Heaven was one of the best shows I have watched in years. Garfield is outstanding.
