Just started watching The Americans and it’s pretty slow as feck so far...does it pick up...?
I'm a good few years late to Luther, but just watched it all in a couple of days. I don't normally binge, but just couldn't stop watching it. It's totally OTT and far-fetched a great deal of the time, and the criminals they're chasing are total caricatures, but it's still a great watch. Loved the story with the twins, as silly as it was. It's all very well acted for something so unbelievable.
Alice
Ripley!
Dear White People
Black Lightning
The OA
The Good Doctor
I just started watching Unsolved. - The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. chronicles the dual police investigations. - I've seen 2 episodes so far it's fantastic.
Im just disappointed they didn't aquire the rights to the music of both Biggie and Tupac. The made up artist songs are pretty disrespectful IMO
I've just watched the first season this week due to seeing it mentioned on here. Very good. Going to download the second season now.No one here watching Crashing? HBO comedy about a stand-up trying to made it. Written and starring Pete Holmes. Judd Apatow produces and sometimes writes and it has a cameo from basically every good stand-up out there.
That was me as well. Mentioned it again because I don't think people know about it.I've just watched the first season this week due to seeing it mentioned on here. Very good. Going to download the second season now.
What are people's recommendations for other similar type comedy sitcoms? Currently watching Crashing and Eastbound and Down but I get through them pretty quick watching 3-4 episodes a day on the tube.

Not sure about a comedy similar to Crashing but F is for Family is a Netflix animation created by Bill Burr. Then there's Broad City which is one of the funniest shows currently on.
I finished season 2 yesterday, it's a very entertaining showShout out for Sneaky Pete, best thing on tv for a while.
A couple of people have said this, could you explain? Its in English, why the need for subtitles?Subtitles are a big help. I don't think I could watch it without them.
Recently binged through Love on Netflix. Quirky dark comedy starring Gillian Jacobs (who is fecking stunning). Really good watch I thought.

Do you use subs for a lot of shows, or did you just find it necessary for this? They mutter a lot and use loads of acronyms.

I use them a fair bit. First English language show I did it with was The Wire.
It’s great. Hits that rare sweet spot where me and the missus both enjoy a show equally.
You needed subtitles for The Wire? Is that because of the Baltimore accent?
It doesn't get any betterJust started Mosaic , short 6 ep season, murder mystery, have to admit bit of a slow start.
