Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

I haven’t watched it yet but I think I saw the thread you made and I’ve meant to get around to it as it looked good. I’ll still give it a go. Preacher I did start watching but I kinda gave up around the time they went to New Orleans, Just couldn’t get in to it. Saying that having a hard time getting in to Altered Carbon. I keep getting distracted but it’s something I would have said is right up my street. I just have to keep going back and watching episodes as I keep missing stuff.

So many distractions these days. I restarted the second episode of Altered Carbon myself just a few hours ago from writing this and its astounding how much I missed the first time round. It's a pretty good show that demands your full attention as there's so much happening.

I keep falling asleep watching Altered Carbon, and having to restart. And I'm a huge sci-fi fan. It's just a bit dull tbh. I really want to like it, but the two leads are just fecking terrible actors. Joel Kinnaman is dreadful, blandest actor I've ever seen.

I think he just has a languid style. I liked him in 'the Killing' and his role in 'House of cards'.

Just finished travelers season 2. Got to say the show constantly has me gripped, hoping for a 3rd season.

Yeah...
traveller 001 is in the psychiatrists body yeah? And 004 is in Ingram's?

The only thing is Grace did say she wasn't sure if she felt ok or something weird near the end of S2 hinting that host body may have been taken over by someone else?

I'm not sure the timeframe in the last episode was shown in its exact order either, maybe things happened in a different order to how we were shown.

As in, when did 001 goto psychiatrist body? Was it before all the interviews possibly?

Seriously hope it gets renewed, the lass who plays Marcy has played the role well too, and she's pretty hot.

Yeah, I just keep reaching for my iPad and looking on Instagram or YouTube and get stuck in a loop watching video after video on red pandas or some rubbish. Then when I finally look up I’m on episode 6 and last thing I remember is episode 2.
Has anyone ever watched Weeds? The full show is now on Netflix uk. For anyone who hasn’t seen it it’s worth a watch. I think there is one stale season but the rest are great. Mary J Parker is awesome in it as well.
Her husband suddenly dies leaving her in a nice suburban area with two kids and she starts dealing weed and building her empire. It’s quite funny.
In a way I guess it’s like the middle class version of Shameless.

Marooned with Ed Stafford is pretty entertaining.

Yes, I watched Weeds when it was still showing on Showtime in the states. Started watching it alongside Dexter. Good show but never finished it for some reason, think I stopped somehere in the third season. Will probably get back to it eventually. TBH there's too much these days to choose from, I doubt i'll catch up with my entire watchlist within a year. The distractions happen often. Sometimes I'll be watching a show with my significant other and she'll ask how something came to be and i'll have to go back as I wasn't paying attention. I think really good shows tend to grab you quickly, Ive struggled with 'Knightfall', the new History channel series and I love anything to do with Knights Templars or period history pieces. I've had to force myself to watch it and I still don't know what's going on, the show is just not very good (great production values, cinematography and sets though). With Vikings, the other History channel show everything just flows for me. Amazing show that is

Well there's this new show called True Detective...

Manhunt: Unabomber is really quite solid. It’s not particularly hard hitting and Sam Worthington is questionable at best but it’s worth a watch.

Even S1's theme song has stayed with me.

Subtitles are a big help. I don't think I could watch it without them.

Tbh, if it weren't for McConaughey as Cohle, I'd have practically forgotten TD S1.

+1 here to the group that fell asleep watching Altered Carbon. Shit getting ridiculous now, had to start the show 3 times already.

Same here. I've given up on it.

Just finished watching the first season of Bates Motel, and its' pretty good. Mainly because Vera Farmiga is carrying the show, its' her acting that really makes the script rise above some weak moments.

Not sure Freddie Highmore was the best choice for Norman Bates, he just looks too goofy and dumb to be a psychopath, and in the moments when he has to show his dark streak, he comes up a bit short. Some of the romance angle and high school stuff also seems totally incongruent with Hitchcock's Norman Bates. But I have decided not to make any comparisons with Psycho, because if you take Bates Motel as a show in its' own right, then there is no need for over-analysing. Overall a good show, made me want to watch the second and subsequent seasons.

Amazing that Meathead Marty cracked the case instead of Rustin. It was as likely as Hong Kong Phooey outsmarting Spot.

There aren't really any GOAT shows running at the moment eh? Most are decent/solid but none are truely fantastic.

I went on a Sopranos Youtube binge a while back, and remember thinking that the writers must've gone into basically every scene with the strong intent to make some sort of point about a character or issue. Not really sure how else to explain what it is about The Sopranos that stands out to me, but maybe you could say that that presence of the writers/director is very strongly felt throughout a scene, or that there's a depth of atmosphere in that show that is very rare.

Not sure if it's been mentioned as I'm not reading 163 pages :P but it probably has, doesn't hurt to add. My other half has just finished the third season of Peaky blinders and she's already having withdrawal symptoms. Tried watching it myself but I can't abide the Brummie accent very long - but you may be able to and enjoy it.

The two I've watched recently will definitely have been mentioned. Stranger things and American vandal.

I don't watch much TV though so that's the best I could come up with. I'll check something out if a few people I know that are on my wavelength recommend it but I tend to dislike a lot of them (Breaking bad and Game of thrones I tried watching a few, and just couldn't get into them). The Wire is still the best series I've watched the past decade though, that and the Sopranos but they're both widely known as well.

Is this McMafia thing actually worth watching then? People at work/my mum keep banging on about it.

I fell asleep watching that a few times too.

A Series of Unfortunate Events seems to go under the radar a bit, it's a very good show.

Teaser for season 2 was released today...

Neil Patrick Harris is fantastic in it.

It's a fantastic show! Have you seen 'Anne with an E'? Another magical Netflix family show. A bit of a dark adaptation of Anne of Green Gables
