Dont know about you guys, but I cant stand these wankers for so many reasons.

First and foremost, their music is incredibly overrated and they're not the god-like band every critic and oasis fan hypes them up to be imo. Secondly they have the nerve to call other bands and music styles shit, some of which are bands I listen to.

What really tops it up though is their hatred for United. Now I can understand that they are City fans and i've got not problem with that whatsoever, but shouting "lets give a big feck off to those wankers Man United!" infront of a crowd of thousands just takes the piss.

Anyone else feel the same?

No.

What bands do they insult that you like?

Scissor Sisters. Yes I know, theyre a very insultable band due to their homosexual look, still I like the music and its great for clubbing.

Though I dont think it gives Liam Gallagher the right to say, and I quote:

"If that's what they call entertainment, then they can f**king have it - bright colours and f**king weirdos on stilts?
"I'm more entertaining than those c**ts, and I'll rip their f**king vocal chords out any day, because they're f**king rubbish." "

First two albums are class, third album not that good and the rest is rather boring. Always been one of my favorite bands.

 I'd rather them speak their minds than come out with the same rubbish all the time. Noel has grown up a lot though and mellowed out.

*If people claim they're overrated, I couldn't care less. I'd go as far to say that the media backlash against Be Here Now made it an underrated album in the long term - and although nowhere near the brilliance of their first two albums, it stands alone as a very good, flowing album, albeit a little overblown and bloated due to the huge amount of drugs being taken at that time and their fame. I don't let anything about the personalities of artists get in the way of my taste for music, and City fans or not they're a great band.

Shame Liam's voice is cracked now because of the drugs and booze and all that jazz; but I'll still love them.

*the above may be slightly blinkered as they are probably my favourite band...:D

Not at all, spot on.

In all fairness it's a cracking quote and all true. I bet you take it up the brown alley.

Noel Gallagher for PM!

First album - Pretty good
Second Album - Not bad
The rest - Utter shite

They should give up. Haven't released a decent song for well over ten years. Just the same old turgid crap.

Spot on

They sounded good when you were 20 and pissed up. They had a good attitude and energy, a few excellent songs and quite a few good ones. But even then the derivative nature of their tunes and utter shiteness of 90% of their lyrics made it obvious they wouldn't stand the test of time.

I like the way whenever Noel knows he's feeling something intense, but lacks any semblance of the poetry necessary to express it, he just goes "In my mi-i-ind..." followed by something irrelevant.

He does it in about five of their songs

Everything in his "mi-i-ind" also seems to "shi-i-ine".

Wankers get snobby about Oasis. You cannot argue with the sheer number of top drawer songs they've had. That's why they endure. Easily the best British rock band in my life time. Even at the time of their magnificent first two albums, folk were trying to claim the far inferior Blue were better than them. Couldn't even tie their shoelaces, not in the same league lads

People

p.s Nemanja, spot on with Be Here Now

Sheer number of top drawer songs?

Rock and Roll Star
Live Forever
Supersonic
Cigarettes and Alcohol
Slide Away
Whatever
Wonderwall
Don't look back in Anger
Some Might Say
Champagne Supernova if we're being very charitable

And that's "top drawer" only in comparison to the shite that was around at the time.

In terms of all-time great rock/pop songs? I'd struggle to count any of them. Maybe Slide Away.

I do have a certain affection for Married With Children, I must admit.

Endure? Hehe, in fifteen years' time hardly anyone will remember them as anything special.

It's not a case of snobbery. They just haven't recorded a decent song for over ten years. They've been going through the motions since "What's the Story?". I used to laugh when they were compared to Status Quo, but it's actually quite apt these days. Dull as feck.

When I was a kid and I didn't know much about music, they sounded quite good.

Now, when they're still doing second class Beatles tributes, I happen to think that they are fecking terrible. I'd be right an' all. The only good thing about them is that they think Tubby Williams is a wanker.

Exactly

Apart from the Tubby Williams bit, possibly... I don't know who that is. Is it your mum?

Dont hate them feckin loved em in my youth but grew out of them. Still have alot of admiration for Noel though really great bloke. Met him in Dublin once he was heading into River Island on Grafton St of all places couldnt help but stop em for a second. Really bang on bloke and would you believe just at the end of our quick conversation he actually asked who I supported and I retorted with "Build a Bonfire". He just laughed..........

I like their music. Much better than the stuff today.

I think the two brothers are funny, constantly fighting.

taste in music is unique and perceptional to an individual. what is shite to one man, is paradise to another. firstly young man, it is unfair to call probably the biggest selling band of the last 15 years 'overhyped'. Secondly, they actually do have the right to call 'your faves' shite, they have earned the right. just as margaret thatcher has the right to say gordie brown is a nonce.
been there, done that, got the feckin t shirt...

what you have to remember is that all this name calling from the band in question is part of their make up, their image. they want to be seen as manc gobshites, and the majority expect them to act it as well.

musically they are fantatsic. maybe not to your tatse (emo i bet). deifinitely may be/whats the story were massive sellers. but today with gem archer and andy bell they sound well better. its not just about the gallaghers anymore, they are infact now a band. the other members contribute to all new projects.

i think you are deeply affected by the fact they are bitters. rise above it kid.
just because it differs from your individual taste does mean they are shite, a multitude of worldwide music critics and the majority of the population can't be wrong, can they ?

Definetly Maybe and Whats the Story (Morning Glory) are two of my all time favourite albums. Went downhill from there though.

. Went downhill from there though.

apart from 'standing on the shoulders' where exactly did it go downhill.

britpop died, change of direction. downhill

if you have ever seen them live, you will damn well know they are still on top of that hill

Yes.

Musically they are anything but fantastic.

Had one of the worst live performances in Austria EVER.

I never liked them. They look gay, make music I don't listen to, and give a shit about their fans (at least in Austria).

So yes, I hate them.
