Antony | On loan to Real Betis

I get that you dont like him and insane is a bit much but still... did well getting the ball, did even better going past that other player. Kept running with the ball while the opponent without the ball who is chasing him cant keep up with him. Cuts inside and picks a good pass instead of being selfish and going for his weak left foot curler. Not amazing but more than ran a bit and passed it.
Agree with you, it was nice dribbling at pace to beat two defenders. He then picked out a good ball into Isco.
Great to hear. Really hope we can get decent money for him in the summer.

I don’t think it’s unfair to say that it’s played at a slower pace. How that is an agenda I don’t know
It is slower and less intense for sure. Though I still point out the biggest difference is the level of physicality defenders are allowed by refs.
Which no one, except you and some other posters that struggle to read apparently, has said. What people have highlighted is that a player like Antony is going to strive in games where the tempo and intensity is not that of the Premier League. That doesn't make the PL better or anything, it's just one of the characteristics of the league.
Although it does now

Anyways, nothing particularly shocking about the defending, it was a good counter attack and Antony did well. Watch Liverpool matches and you'd see a lot of it. He was doing well at first at United, too. He's got his confidence back, plus teammates who make actual good runs and finish their chances. At united, after that run he looks up and sees Rashford doing a scarecrow impression all the way out the left wing, Hojlund ignoring the play to wrestle the defender, and Bruno, he makes the right run, but he has to adapt to The Scarecrow and "El Bendtner" so his run is to the outside right instead of down the middle, so Antony end the play by shooting from range and nothing happens...

A whole different discussion but I am actually quite curious to know which metrics show the PL as the most intense or fast paced league in the world. Maybe some that are wide known or wide used.

I think there are probably a large number of them.

A quick google search from some years ago showed La Liga as the league where most distance is covered and also most distance is covered in high intensity.

Will look up some more articles.

Might not be the quickest or the most intense in terms of stats. But it's the league where physicality probably matters most. If you can't find a way to handle the intense physicality then you will be a failure in the PL.

Good decision to loan him out, glad he's showing some value. Hopefully he can get his career back on track. Never worth that ridiculous fee and probably not top of the prem quality but not nearly as bad as some made him out to be.

Insane Assist?? One would have thought he dribbled past 4 mids, nutmegged a CB and squared it to a team mate for a tap in.
A simple pass to a forward who scores from an Antony pass has to be regarded as nothing less than an “insane assist” for Antony.

I mean you look at the word insane and you expect Lionel Messi in his prime time mazing run through multiple defenders and laying off for a team mate or scoring. That I would classify as insane.
Antony did well to setup the goal, don't get me wrong I'm not knocking him. I hope he comes back and performs for us like that.
