Madrid came in with a world record bid for Ronaldo previously and people were still rightfully pissed.
If the transfer did not involve Sepp Blatter calling us slave masters then people would be a lot less pissed about it. Furthermore, we were easily one of the top clubs in the world back then and was doing much better than RM, especially when they could not even get past round of 16 in the CL and were busy getting thrashed by some mediocre Liverpool squads while we have just won the CL. Nowadays, we aren't even remotely close to RM. Things and the dynamics between both clubs have changed a lot in the past decade.

Once again, context matters.

When you look at it from the Portuguese speaking pov, almost half the team now speaks Portuguese.

He's going to be a Nani at his full potential and we bought him at 100m when Arsenal got Gabriel Jesus for half the price. Iol

Nani would go for the same money today. Fantastic player who won 4 PL's, i'd take that for Antony. Terrible take.

Who needs oppo fans to take a piss out of our new signing whilst praising our rivals before he even played a game for us ? Eh ?

I hope you stay as a newbie and I’m a newbie myself.

So typical from some fans, u defeating our layers and overrating our rival’s. If Gabriel Jesus was so good, baldy would have never let him go.

People keep going on about how Arsenal got Jesus and Chelsea got Sterling for cheap but there was absolutely no way City were selling them to us.

i don´t really get this, i get it is quality. but what is needed is composure and leadership, i think the technical ability is in the team, however, the whole team mindset is just lost, and a 100million signage, that can only fail. because of the price.. i get Casemiro MUCH MUCH more than this, even though he will be a problem to offload.

I also get Eriksen, mostly because i am Danish (Sorry) and that i can see his tactical overview works great, as long as the team is fairly in control, and he is used in his actual place (and he is used more than Bruno as a distributer).

to be honest, i think there are fewer and fewer things that needs to be fixed, Bruno needs to be benched, he scored yes, but he missuses so many chances, and him as a captain just seems plain wrong.

Ronaldo needs to leave, and a better attacker needs to be hired in. IF barca really hates Aubemayang, maybe there is a "cheap" 1-2 year quality striker there. better than what the team has right now. then i think it is mentality.

Stick to Pastry.

Pastor Fred must be over the moon with the amount of NT mates he has around him these days

Will he start? On paper, he’s behind Sancho and Rashford but possibly ETH hasn’t yet been that impressed with Sancho? Great we will have some squad depth but feels a bit of an odd signing at that fee when we have much larger issues at RB, CM and CF.
Now we have that backup keeper, both wings covered, we need a striker. Thought: is the Anthony saga a bit like a particularly well heeled and coarse customer of a second hand shop, who points to an arts and crafts chair the manager is sitting on. ‘I’ll take that’
‘Not for sale’
‘Don’t answer me no. Pack it up. Call your boss. Everyone has a price…’

Sorry just got offended putting Giggs in same category as mg shouldn't have commented.
I need to hear this poetry thing I think.
He isn't far off the same category. In fact, if you believe everything that's being said currently, not sure why you'd either bothering differentiating. They both appear to be scumbags

People complaining about Pogba probably didn't live through the Ronaldo transfer

That whole thing was absolute nuts. Ronaldo agreed with Blatter's statements that he was a slave, kept going on about how only god knows about the future etc.

We won the damn CL and the next day he was giving interviews about how he wanted to leave.

Day before Rome he told us he was definitely staying and this was his house!

You have to say, since Fergie left basically alot of transfer muppet dreams came true: Varane, di maria, casemiro, falcao, schweinsteiger, sanchez, getting Pogba back when he had already become an established superstar at Juventus... these exotic signings and names were everything the average muppet dreamed of and the type of signings we barely do under Fergie. Casemiro wasn't the first signing since Fergie where people on the caf were saying it feels surreal.

Alot of excitement also with each transfer at the time, you couldn't have known each one of them would be meh (exclude casemiro and varane, we don't know yet).

You are concerned about the teams mindset and instead of signing a young hungry Brazilian International, you want us to sign an undisciplined Aubemayang?

What about Cantona? Rooney? Van Persie? Tevez?

Agree 100%. That's why my argument since the window began was to avoid superstars and make a few shrewd signings like Malacia, Eriksen etc. that can really bring something to the side.

Two 50M mids would've been better than Casemiro for 70M if we just had the planning to target guys like Guimaraes, Kessie, Brozovic etc.
