I hope he gets the number 11 shirt
Casemiro and Antony for 150 mil, unbelievable
Long journey that was, i remember those times when we were a team to be linked with Arnautovic and Rabiot for 20….. like It was 3 weeks ago. Time flies.
I did raise this earlier. The realistic right wing options are Olise, Ziyech, Neto, Asensio, Berardi etc.
Olise is the only one I would be keen but will cost 60m + . Not much of a difference ! Left footed right wingers are not in the market .
That is such an underrated bit in the bold. Couldn’t agree more. A tenacious, hard working winger with strong determination would surely have an effect on Sancho also. Atleast that’s what I hope. One winger taking all the plaudits for his play and hard work should push Sancho to perform better and match that too.Antony is better than Sancho and I love Sancho. Forget goals and assists as he doesn't play for stats and his best attribute is ball progression up the pitch ala Mahrez. He's incredibly hard-working and creative he looks to pass before shooting and was the main reason Sebastian Haller looked so good at Ajax. Notice most of Haller's goals were tap-in's...most from either Antony's assists or action before the assist.
Sancho is skilled but runs out of stamina and is a bit quiet...he's not as determined as Antony who is a pest all game long. Those complaining we paid too much....Real Madrid or Barcelona will inevitably pay way more to steal him from us in a few years.
Antony's real worth is an improved Sancho on the left as well as improved financial windfall when of getting back to CL and eventual trophies....
Good stuff. He basically replaces what we lost in greenwood. Has a swagger and flair. Will be exciting to watch and is a definite upgrade on elanga.
The hope is he makes an impact straight away although he could struggle like a lot do with the intensity. He has the potential to be up there with someone like mahrez and lets hope he achieves that.
For the glazers, this is the reality of the transfer market for top clubs, you need to spend big to stay competitive.
That’s good to know. It’s something different from his goals, assists, dribble, key pass stats, which look a bit underwhelming. I guess I’d be happy with his outstanding progressive passes/progressive carries stats, which could be important for our new system.Yep. For example, note Antony top right on the below. Also worth noting where Martinez is too. It's fairly basic but actually being being able to progress the ball forward effectively is something we've struggled with in recent years.
What is the status of Greenwood!? Is he history? Any hope for him? Is he in jail?
Just to be more accurate, fees of those players you’ve listed above should be:Why walk away from the deal if you can afford it? I don’t understand. Just because we aren’t currently successful on the pitch doesn’t mean we can’t spend our money. How do you expect to change the cycle without taking risks?
Significantly less?
Richarlison £60m
Raphinha £55m
Antony £80m
Define significant?
Whilst Antony has no Premier League experience he is 22 whilst both Raphinha and Richarlison are 25 (3 years older). Antony also has Champions League experience whilst neither of the others do. All are full Brazilian international
Define considerably more experience?
This is the same window that’s seen Darwin Nunez move to Liverpool for £85m, Fofana to Chelsea for £75m and Cucerella the same way for £63m. Chelsea have also bid £60m for Gordon.
United were buying from the biggest club in Holland. Not Everton or Leeds. A Champions League club. Just like Liverpool were buying from Benfica of Portugal.
The price for Antony isn’t as ridiculous as some of you want to make out when you actually look at the market and other factors.
He's done, at least here. Even if he makes it out of that ness without jail there's no way back for him into the team. The recordings are enough evidence to have damage his image for good. There's no way any top team will be willing to be associated with that. What is the status of Greenwood!? Is he history? Any hope for him? Is he in jail?
Just don’t. Sancho > Rashford on the left. It’ll be Rashford-Martial-Antony
I’m just so happy that we finally sorted out our wings situation which has been problematic for god knows how long. The last time we had two fantastic wingers on either wing was when ? Nani and Valencia ? That’s how long it’s been.
Sancho and Antony are both 22. Watching them occupying the wings and flourishing together under ten hag is a tantalising prospect.
CB done, LB done, DM done, RW done. 4 done. Now we only have to sort out the remaining 4 positions.CF, CM, RB, GK which of course won’t be possible in this window but would be addressed next summer and who knows maybe a surprise is in the waiting in these 3 days. All in all, the way things are going it’s hard not to get excited.
And yet it's less money than we paid for Pogba about 6 years ago and whom remains to this day our record signing.
No. Ajax did not want to sell more than two players.I bet we could have had both at Antony and Martinez at the start of the transfer window with a joint bid of 100m bid for both.
Anyway, we all know how useless we are.
But both are going to be amazing signings for us. Young and world class. That's how we should be buying, so well done on those two.
Great news.

Why the feck would he do that?
Oh there's a rule? My bad I didn't known.Guys, no Greenwood talk follow the rules! We are not legal experts so we don't know what may put the caf owners in trouble.

Licha, Malacia, Casemiro, and now–THIS. Makes you really realize what we have been missing.
I feel like Sancho lacks that confidence and hunger to perform at peak level. Competition and playing around higher level players may elevate him.Antony is better than Sancho and I love Sancho. (80-50)/50 = 60%Antony - £80.75m + £4.25m add-ons
Raphinha - £50m + £5m add-ons
Safe to say we’ve overpaid by around 30% of market price as compared to other players of similar calibre (ie Raphinha).
Jungle Boy is a decent alternative name.No idea who that is. A wood that is green. Jungle is massive?
