Garnacho should get Elanga spot
Not just Garnacho. I want to see 2-3 youngsters, who showed very well in pre-season, consistently given chances in cup games and maybe even Europa League. We need to keep developing our youth because our main players are still very questionable and we cannot keep paying 100 fecking million every time we buy from outside.

Also, to be fair - Elanga doesn't get enough credit. That goal against Saints - while Dalot did the assist, Elanga played critical role as well, bringing the ball up very quickly and very well.

We might be back next summer for Timber

We should. After we sell Maguire and Lindelof. Neither of them are good enough, to partner with Licha, and we need a backup CB, especially with Varane's injury record.

The price we pay here is absolutely a joke. But, from now on, the market will probably follow the same tone. 30-40 mil players in pre-COVID will cost 80-90 post-COVID.
Can he hit the ground soon? Let’s hope so. ETH picked Martinez. He has already shown he’s a really good player. Hope Antony work out for us.

They stay until their contracts run out. The united way

Amad and Pellestri are definitely in trouble. They had the preseason to do some convincing and they failed.
Hannibal was fancied over both for attacking positions which is quite telling.
Selling Pellestri and sending Amad out on loan would be for the best.

We should also send Garnacho on loan imo.
A lot of good players have returned to clubs on loan.

This guy scored 8 league goals in a piss weak league playing for the most dominant team to have ever graced the league.

Normally he'd be a punt signing (like Dan James). We're paying triple, because we don't care about the price tag and we don't have other targets.

He’s a Brazilian international. Comparing him to James is ridiculous.

is he at least better than Ziyech when he was coming to Chelsea/EPL? crazy fee.

His numbers are nowhere near as good as Ziyechs at Ajax which is a bit of a concern, but he is a lot younger, so potential and all that.

It’s a massive gamble at the fee we’ve paid but the managers other signings seem to be coming good so I reckon we trust him until he gives us a reason not to.

That is an absolute mad ass price but I guess the boss really wants him.

He's got a very high bar to reach now, almost unobtainable unless he turns out like Neymar. Not his fault but that is the way it is. The English press will be 100 million this, 100 million that.

Or Memphis :nervous: let's hope his game doesn't rely on pace.

WHo is the main set piece and penalty taker at the time both players had their full seasons at the club?

Also Antony seems more direct than Sancho but also like a playmaker, always with his head up rather than a cross merchant Ziyech, lots of preassists etc.

When in three years Antony lifts the balon d’Orio, we’ll keep reminding you all how silly you looked complaining about this dealio.

He’ll stomp on PL defenders harder than he did on the bald twat (the Ajax coach) and on that crazy twitter meltdowner. :smirk:

Hard to not be excited, steep price or not. A 22 year old left footed Brazilian right winger. Who is the teachers pet and puts a shift in. He will make us more fun to watch and help break down teams.

It’s very hard to judge a 21 year old wingers stats, there’s very few in world football with mind blowing stats at that age. The fee is all about potential isn’t it and with ETH having managed him before I feel confident in this being money well spent.

Feels even more important to get a good striker.

I’d say Ronaldo can get on the end of those crosses pretty well. The best chances created there were from midfield runners so the hope here is he can help Bruno find his scoring boots, and find Sancho in those positions he’s so often overlooked in. At the end of the day most of those chances relied on having good movement throughout the team. If we can get bit right we’ll be in a much better place.

Where has this logic come from, covid drove down the cost of players as everybody was skint. The Spanish league still is, it’s only Barca throwing money around like sailors on shore leave. The only league throwing money around is the prem.

Will he actually still be here

From this video alone you can see why he didn't register many assists. They keep fecking missing. What the hell are they doing?!

I dunno, regardless of the fee it's hard for me not to be happy about Ten Hag getting one of his loyal soldiers who happens to fill one of the biggest needs we've had for years and is an exciting talent to boot.

Hard for me to truly be upset about the money in a market where DM's go for 100m,backup strikers for 70m, LB's from midtable clubs for 75m, strikers with one good season in a weaker league for 100m. It's been the reality that highly rated young talent around Europe cost an absolute premium and especially so for PL clubs.

Much prefer that it goes towards strengthening the squad rather than sitting in the coffers enriching the fecking owners

Here we God have mercy on us.

€100 million fk me welcome Pepe.

We should be used to the inflated market prices by now - based on some of the baseline fees that have been paid this season for attackers, i.e. players such as Nunez (100m), Isak (75m), Richarlison (70m), Raphina (65m). It's not overly alarming that a highly rated Brazilian winger from a notoriously well run selling club is demanding 90m+.

Fingers crossed, and he does look like he has potential to be an exciting player. This should be a good moment for us as fans and I’m looking forward to seeing him and Casemiro make their full debuts.
