Is there any player, past or present, that people would compare him to?
Di Maria.

A more showboating Nani with better defensive work rate.Is there any player, past or present, that people would compare him to?
Louis takes out his fountain pen from the top right drawer on his desk, touches the tip to his tongue to check the ink is flowing and then opens his notebook to page 6. There, written in a lovely slanted font are the two sentences ‘football club’ and ‘commercial club’ separated by a neat line which runs perfectly down the centre of the page, separating the two sides. He runs his fingers down the ‘football club’ column pausing when reaches Ajax. He sighs. Then, pressing firmly, he crosses a line through the word and, in the opposite, less populated, column headed ‘commercial club’, writes Ajax.Businesswomen won.
Your opinion Mr van Gaal?
Not a midfield controller then?
Oh no...Di Maria.
I thought we got a right winger last summer with Sancho signing but in the end it seems he'll play as LW for us mostly.Absolutely crazy fee, I didn't think we'd go that far. After years we've finally got a right winger again though. Let's just hope he's even half as good as the fee suggests.
We definitely need that, but again, we still need someone who's going to provide the goals. Someone to get on the end of these chances that Sancho, Antony, Eriksen, and Bruno create.
People will cry about the price
But Antony and Sancho on opposite flanks is exciting stuff
Both 22 and born just a month apart too
So, I take it we wont be signing Gakpo aswell then!
It’s the stuff of dreams really. Scary scary potential
GK and striker are the 2 biggest issues now. Replacing Ronaldo with Memphis or Morata would fit very well for a few years and be achievable. GK the big one for next year. GK, RB and deep playmaker will probably be the only 3 transfers next summer.Slightly nervous that we don't have the right strikers to make the best use of this signing.
Everything behind and around the striker is looking better. But, I'm still looking at this side and am wondering where the goals are going to come from.
Next signing needs to be somebody to play up top.
God we still need both don't we and that isn't happening
He is just tweeting depending on what might be the outcome.
Antony is getting sold - Well fine, we are selling player with 8 goals + 4 assists
Antony stays - Can't believe we are retaining him, will enjoy magnificent player for at least one more year.
£84m
Pepe went for £75m four seasons ago?
Every day that goes by just shows how right Rangnick was about needing 10 players.
1. Malacia (left back)
2. Martinez (centre back)
3. Eriksen (midfield)
4. Casemiro (defensive midfield)
5. Antony (right wing)
6. ? (new striker)
7. ? (centre midfield)
8. ? (right back)
9. ? (additional striker - e.g. a backup/bench option)
10. ? (new goalkeeper to replace De Gea)
He was spot on.
At the same time, every single one of those signings made (so far) improves us. Can't fault the recruitment. These are the right players. I think we're finally getting it right. Right manager, too.
Still seething after sealing a 100m sale
100 million is insane.

And NunezInsanely cheap considering how much lukaku, grealish and fofana etc. cost.
You haven't watched him.My only concern is does he lack that explosive pace to beat players, mind you seems like his trickery helps him beat a man
and that head-butter too.Insanely cheap considering how much lukaku, grealish and fofana etc. cost.
LVG confirms Anthony will not be considered for the Dutch squad after his move to Man United.....

The European Lad twitter has no value. I can't believe you guys are following him, it's no more than following average posters on caf.
Has the money to find himself a good dermatologistI hope he uses some of the transfer fee to fix his jawline acne, they are 'Cassano' level.
Welcome anyway

Yeah like if Martial was a freak fitness wise who never got injured, I could be ok with it. But he gets injured constantly, so even at best he needs resting. Yeah Memphis is basically just someone similar in some ways that could help us for a couple of years until we address it in 2024 likely. The striker up top is the one glaring thing we're missing that is going to cause us the most issues this season, in my opinion. I am very satisfied with how the defence is looking, and we're making strides with the midfield area with Casemiro and Eriksen. But, watching Haaland yesterday, we literally just need someone who can stay up top and put the chances away.
I'm warming to the Memphis Depay possibility. Wasn't sure at first, but could work out well with what we're trying to do. I don't think he's it and the solution in the same way that Casemiro is the solution to defensive midfield, or Varane + Martinez is to our defence. He's an option that we should most definitely explore, though.
You should have no reason to trust them either that's the point. Just like Goldbridge, flat earthers, governments etc. Just think about it. Even if they have a contact then who is it? How many people are actually involved in the bidding process? A handful of top CEO's? Then the player and the agent but I would be surprised if they knew everything. Like does Murtough get off the phone with Ajax and then rings the agent and gives him a play by play of the conversation? I doubt it. So even if Romano is getting info straight from agents its only second hand half info. Basically whatever the club has deemed ok to release to the agents and even then only a fraction of the story. Then you add all the lies the agents will release that's a benefit to their players. Oh Man Utd is interested. A bid is going in etc. All to sell their player or negotiate a new contract. Plus the clubs purposely put out lies for various reasons. I can go in and on. But at the end of the day most news, I dont care where you source it from, is at best half truths and at worst blatant lies.I don't give a shit about fan channels and gossip columns. I only follow a few select journalists like Stone, Ornstein, Whitwell and Romano, that's it. Now I personally hate Romano for a lot of different reasons, but I concede he's a decent source to stay up to date. If those people in June/July say Ajax want €80m, I, as a fan, have no reason to doubt them. That's it. How you have managed to drag Goldbridge, flat earthers, governments and what not into this, I don't know.
