And? They spent a lot of money buying Andy Caroll, too.Liverpool spent the same amount of money this summer on a player who is neither of those things.

When are either of those clubs ever in these situations?"100m is way too much" in your own words.
That's enough then. City and Liverpool walk away from these situations. We don't. That's why they are top well ran clubs and we aren't.
City and Liverpool are also in way better situations than we are.
Sometimes when you are struggling you have to make a big splash. They overpaid for plenty of players back when they were trying to climb again.
DId they walk away from Van Dijk? did they walk away from Grealish?
From this decade? The game has evolved
Stop. Two players you choose to compare were PL proven though. That's the difference.
The PL is the undisputed best league in the world. The Dutch League probably isn't even top 10.
You may want to look up the meaning of decadeThis decade? ok
Wijnaldum, Eriksen, van Persie, van Dijk, Suarez, De Jong, De Ligt, Verthongen, Robben, Sneijder, van Bommel, van der Vaart, Dumfries.
Ake is good as long as his injuries dont keep him out. Botman will be one of the best CBs in PL in a couple years time. And dont forget the infamous Ron Vlaar!

Besides, Liverpool have just spent an absolute fortune on a striker from the Portuguese league.
But as I have just told you....players who stand out in that league don't really mean anything. Steven Bergwijn was a bit part player for Spurs. Not even deemed good enough to start and this season he will probably be the best player in that league.
Antony could come in and be a revelation but 100m is just a ridiculous amount of money to pay for him, I'm sorry.

It also hasn't happened before. Especially with us.Please if you know about a better buy than Antony please let the board know, im sure they need all the help in they can get!
Bottom line is we need an attacker beforee the window closes, Antony wont be the first brazilian that becomes world class, it has happened befoore mate.
They don't allow themselves to get in this situation very often though. Why? Because they are incredibly well ran.
I just don't see the value in 100m for him, sorry. We have some talented young wingers already at the club and a few who are slightly older and misfiring.
100m is crazy money for him. Raphina went to Barca for 65m and he was PL proven.

I'm not positive about this potential transfer at all. I can't fake it.You are kind of ruining my point here mate? lets try to be positive ok?

And how much do you think Saudi owned Newcastle would want for their best player?Yes, We should offer 80m take it or leave it. Then go for ASM if they act like dickheads

Maybe top 5 after this season

Those goalposts they keep moving all the time.Top 10 may have been OTT tbf but we've got championship clubs with bigger budgets than bottom half Erdivise teams. Norwich City for example.

Of course they wouldn't. It would take more money than whatever Ajax want for Antony. They wouldn't sell imo
But crying over spilt milk just leaves a stink; we're trying to clear up a mess made by years and years of mismanagement and have no leg to stand on given absolutely every club we negotiate with knows our predicament and can manoeuvre us as they please. It's the end of the window now; most clubs are just putting the icing on their window not desperately scrambling around for a multitude of 1st team starters. Fans don't seem to understand - or don't want to - that we're the ones enquiring and that ultimately it's our loss because clubs won't sell unless it's worth their while for the inconvenience and disruption. They don't allow themselves to get in this situation very often though. Fact is the ONLY thing that matters is does the manager see him as the perfect signing for his style. What other clubs do or do not desire is irrelevant. And given our situation, we have to pay over the odds to get this boss exactly what he wants if we desire to succeed with him. And if we are bothered about the fee we had better improve how much we sell fringe players for. Nonsense like seeking 14m for Garner when a Gibbs White of Wolves and Ronnie Lavia of City can fetch 20m plus needs to stopI said at the time he wasn't worth 100m. They definitely got that one wrong. However tbf Grealish had delivered in an elite league.
Also, unfortunately for us....City are debt free and owned by a man worth 40bn not looking for a return on his money. Hahahaha

Think they'd respect his wishes and let him go for 50-60And how much do you think Saudi owned Newcastle would want for their best player?
That's optimistic to say the leastThink they'd respect his wishes and let him go for 50-60
I hope you're right. How about if i tell you that Antony will give our right side a big lift while also helping the team press more and that will help Sancho over to the left side where he has been the best in his career?
I think Antony and Casemiro will make the team tick again!'
