Watching highlights, very left footed in all moves, is that a concern? I'm impressed with him and looks great but asking?

Is he a 100 million player though? How much it leaves us to get a RB, GK, maybe another CM, ST? 80 mil already felt steep.

of course, because they now know the panic induced hysteria has replaced all rational decision making. They literally put a "feck off" price on his head weeks ago, we rightly backed away. Now that we've been humiliated on the pitch, and we've hardly got any time left in the window, it's entirely in Ajax hands. Wouldn't be surprised if we offer 95 and Ajax brief the new figure is 110. By going back in for him now, we've signaled no price is off limits.

I don't think he'll be going for 100 million euro's guaranteed, probably like a bonus of 10 million euro's with an initial fee between 75 - 85 million euro's.

Looks like this is going to happen, but still have no idea why he hasn't been training.

If I were Ajax, United or the player I wouldn't want to risk a player representing that much money getting injured on the pitch when there's a high likelyhood of a deal being reached soon. From Ajax POV especially no matter if you value a player at €30, 50, 80 or 100m. Just too much of a risk when even the lowest figure matches the record for the most expensive incoming transfer.

Far safer to spend time in the gym where you can do measured efforts closely monitored by a specialist.

Sparta is traditional bottom of the league fodder with a love for rough tackling so Ajax shouldn't need him anyway for that particular match.

Because you are trying to deny him his dream move?

United in it's current state is sadly not what I would call a "dream move". Just a much better paycheck.

Bayern, PSG, City, Real and Chelsea are what I would consider dream moves right now. Great money and a realistic chance of silverware.

How many players who have gone for 100m Euros plus have been a success? 3 out of the 12? (Mpabbe / Felix / Bale) and you'd probably have people arguing against those 3.

Wouldnt call Felix a success. He’s been quite unimpressive at Atleti in my opinion.

Paying 100m on him is mental. He is not a bad player, but we make the same mistakes over and over again. Why do you think other teams call big fees for their players whenever we bid for them? Because they know we are gonna pay that sum.

This transfer and Martinez' will hurt us because we will always have to pay more than other clubs on players. Malacia and Eriksen were great signings and we couldn't get a world class player like Casemiro without CL football so his fee is understandable, but 100m on Antony is just way too much, regardless of him being on Ten Hag's wish list.

You pay 100m for a generational talent, not an unproven player from the Dutch league. I'm not that convinced that he can make it to a better player than eg Richarlison or Raphinha. Moussa Diaby (29 goal contributions in 40 games last season) would be a much better player and available for 70m euros.

Really hope we get him. He has rare talent imo and the potential to be truly elite. Will take time of course, he's young, it would be a big transition, but that talent he has isn't a standard winger talent and is the perfect option for us on the wing. Especially the connection him and EtH seem to have.

Do like his ability to beat a player with skill rather than pace and drop a ball into the box

He’s overpriced, but having someone coming in from the right (for once) and maybe Sancho in from the left totally changes the angles that the team plays at, which is probably worth a lot in itself. Carrasco and Gakpo are cheaper, but they don’t really solve a problem, do they?

Adding 2 shithouse capable Brazilians like him and Casemiro really would make us so much more enjoyable to watch

Really been missing that fire and occasional mean streak in the side

Will have to wait until return match at Anfield unless we somehow meet in either cup

uuuuh i will deffo try that mate! :D

Will order some now before i forget it!

Sancho will come good mate,he just needs good players around him that can play one touch football,he and Martial had a great understanding in the pre seasson so its great that Martial is back.

Jadon needs Malacia rather than Shaw

I think he's got incredible potential.

Rather him 100% over Gakpo.

Yeah he has raw talent like Nani & Ronaldo when they came here, however which route he goes would depend on whether he has that drive to be one of the best in europe.

Don't understand your thinking? If we overpay for one, that leaves us less for the other or reduced the options. Have you not heard of a budget? Is that how you spend your money?

I understand the difference of opinion. But would it be different if it was Sir John Radcliffe’s billions vs the glazers millions ? Don’t get me wrong here, I 100% take on board the response and think on balance and reflection I agree with you. But I’m invested in how you think the 2 finances would compare hypothetically of course.

Interest thread which goes into different facets of Antony's game and also highlights his work rate and ability to carry out pressing instructions extremely well which are statistically higher than players like Rashford, Sancho, Saka, Salah etc.

Do we think this is happening? I think we are over paying, but definitely an exciting player, would love to see him on the right wing!

yeah we haven’t had a player like this since Nani

we’re overpaying but random knobheads are going to Forest for like 40m, what are you gonna do

Haven't you read that Glazers have increased the transfer budget not it is almost 300mil. We will get everyone manager wants now.

And his crossing is comparable to Foden and Robertson based on the tweet's stats. I had seen videos of him pulling two type of crosses with his outside of his boot and when he cut inside. The ability to pull crosses with outside of his foot makes the player unpredictable despite of knowing he will only use his left foot. We need a good crosser from our flanks.

The problem is that we offered 60+ million then they indicated that they were looking at 80million. Then we came back at 80million and now they are indicating they are looking at 100million.
Now he’s kicking off we should go back with our original 60m offer and he can force the issue. 100m seems insane.

He can’t do shit to lower our offer. Ajax hold on the cards. If they ask us to pay up we have to pay up which would be bonkers.

I don't know if its good idea or bad idea to spend that much on him.

Another issue is, young top talents like Garnacho could be leaving us later, when we have spend that much on 2 of our most expensive buys being young wingers ahead of him.
