Only one choice for me. Sancho looks dangerous from the left. He's good on the right and links nicely with other players, but whenever he plays on the left I just think he looks like he could score goals. I think ETH will want inverted wingers and I believe Sancho would be more productive, and is a better player, than Rashford on the left.

I just read this also, quite the fall from the hype surrounding him. I remember he was absolute menace back in that Ajax side, and was rumored for a big transfer. Is Antony a bigger prospect? His numbers are weaker, but from what I have seen, they are different type of players, Neres always left an impression of a raw footballer with bad decision making.

We only have three attackers. If one of Sancho, Martial or Rashford gets injured we are left with Elanga and that's it.

Antony is not quick enough for my liking, doesn't cruise through the defense like Vinicius Jr, Moussa Diaby, or Dembele. Doesn't score a lot either. His stats (ball progression, dribbling rate, goals, assists) doesn't at all suggest he should cost that much.
Moussa Diaby is around the same price he's quoted for, and he's much better in pretty much all aspects. But we're going for Antony instead of Moussa because he's at ajax and ten Hag wants him, Ajax knows this and knows that we don't have proper scouting so they'll use that to rinse us for all we've got. Hence the ridiculous fee.

The New 5 in game substitutes in premier league makes having 5 or 6 options for 3 striker positions key, plus we will play Thu Sunday football from September to Early December. There are potentially 24/25 games before the World cup and 35/40 after. We will need at least 3 or 4 attacking options from the 9 named substitutes, currently our bench would look like this ; T Heaton, H Maguire, T Malacia, V Lindelof, S Mctominay, Z IQbal, DVB, A Elanga, A Garnaucho, if that bench truly inspires you with confidence that ETH can change games when 1 or 2-0 down, then united fans have been hoodwinked.
United’s first 11 of ; D De Gea, D Dalot, Varane, L Martinez, L Shaw, Fred, Christensen, Bruno, Sancho, Martial, Rashford is more than capable providing there are no players carrying injuries or a loss of form which is simply never going to happen through such a long season!
Now look at the other top 6 teams options for 4/5 attacking options from the bench. We need two strikers if Ronaldo goes and 1 if he stays, that’s how short we are. We are expecting DVB, Elanga or Ganaucho to change a game while Spurs have Ricarlson, Sessegnon, N’Dombele, L Moura and I Perisic to probably come off the bench, Chelsea have Werner, Pullisic, Hudson odoi, H Ziyech, R Lofthouse-cheek, C Gallagher, B Gilmour, Brojo or batsuyai. Liverpool have N Keita, C Jones, H Elliot, F Calvalho, Firminho, D Jota, J Milner.
City have Gundogan, Alvarez, Grealish, L Delap, K Phillips, Y Herrera.
My point United are playing catch up and the other elite teams are still adding to their squads, right now our squad depth and balance is actually worse than Newcastle, Aston Villa and just about on par with West Ham.
Antony wants to come, we have a huge problem up top as Cavani, Mata, Lingard and Greenwood are all no longer in the squad and while we can promote one or two from the under 23 squad we need another 2 to replace what we had and this is assuming Ronaldo stays.

He got heavily injured and never returned to his old form. Still a decent player. We're asking too much for Antony imo but we desperately need him on the right side this year, especially in CL games. 60 mil eur would be fair considering if he does well at the WC.

Of the FIVE wingers we have, 4 of them prefer to play on the left hand side. One of those wingers is going back on loan (Pellistri) — a second will probably follow (Amad). Both of them have played a combined 9 football matches for Manchester United (Amad 9, Pellistri 0).
If Sancho/Rashford get injured or need rest, all we have is Elanga, who so far has shown he’s more likely to be a squaddie than anything else.

My judgment is fine. I've watched his games and he's the direct opposite of a direct player. Cute tricks, but not enough pace to be convincing 1 on 1 consistently. Closer to a Ziyech than he is to a true winger like Ousmane Dembele or Vinicius Jr. The stats back me up; low ball progression, low dribbling rate.

I've seen him burn fullbacks from a stand still quite regularly. Anyway, pace isn't everything. Decision making at the end of it is far more important, and he certainly has that.
Not sure about the rest myself, but massively overstating Bissouma's ability here. He's a good player, but nowhere near good enough to revolutionise anyone's midfield. Even Brighton won't miss him that much, they'd pretty much already replaced him with that Ecuadorian guy by the end of last season.

I'm not overstating Bissouma's ability, it's more a statement to the current quality of our central midfield. Compared to them, Bissouma is world class even if he actually isn't.
Neres was massively important for us in the run to the semi-final. I do however rate Antony a lot higher. I meant 60 million pounds, sorry for not adding that. If we get that including a right back from UTD I can see this happening.
It’s always a gamble of how a player will adapt to the EPL but I do think EtH can make a good estimate if Antony is up for it.
I dont agree with the people stating you overpaid for Martinez. In my honest opinion he’s a lot better than Pau Torres and will be a fan favorite this year.
Antony provides a different type of skillset. ETH wants to play possession based football, where tricks, decision making and execution are crucial. Speed is less critical than in a defensive, counter attacking style of play. That is why I think we will see Sancho start from the left and Antony from the right. If we are a goal up and being put under pressure with 20 minutes to play, the speed of Rashford and Elanga are perfect to come on as substitutes if the play becomes more stretched.
No, like I said - Martial is not a striker. He's just the closest thing to it of all the players from the pre-season.

As for Antony - he makes sense only as a bonus, ONLY if we've signed at least one CM, a RB and a proper ST.

Neres looked very handy at the beginning, and was important part of that CL run. Rating Antony higher is a positive sign, but I wonder whether that’s a bit clouded from how it ended with Neres? I think 60m pounds + Laird is too much for a winger that is very unproven albeit young and talented.
67m euros potentially is a lot of money. Not sure many United fans even knew who was Martinez prior to ETH. Pau Torres is also not worth that kind of money imo but it is what it is. He is a United player now and I hope he lives up to the price tag.
Diaby has a nice potential but he isn't a possession player and his end product is questionable. If he is anywhere near Antony's fee then it's a bad deal because you will have to gamble on the idea that he can totally change his game at United. It would be best for him to stay at Leverkusen and develop the style that he currently has to elite level, if he can.
I agree, setting precedent like that is dangerous in negotiations with other clubs also. Ajax are well run club and will fleece us if we insist on Antony.
