I think he is better at LB than Lindelof.
Lindelof did ok yesterday in his natural position at CB, but boy he was appalling at LB.
Next time Shaw/ Dalot/ AWB get injured I'd rather see Antony at LB than Lindelof again.

Given how shite he's been on the right wing (was ok yesterday) since we've signed him, he has a cheek moaning about being played at left back. If he was decent and more consistent in the position he should be playing, then there's no way ten Hag would even think about playing him out of position.
Having said all of that, due to the changes ten Hag made to try and level the game, it was always going to leave us unbalanced. Bruno had to play centre back and just got on with it.

The body language was pretty obvious. But who cares? Antony is an attacking player and he understandably wasn’t thrilled about being asked to defend when we were still chasing a goal. There is nothing out of bounds here.

I'd genuinely think about it. We bought him for a ridiculous amount, there isn't much chance anybody will take him from us and he isn't going to accept stepping down. We may as well try to get something out of him. He obviously isn't a defender, but he is gritty and has good workrate. I'd give it a shot against teams, that aren't expected to have too much fire power up front. He could play the FB behind Bruno on the right for example, providing an outball and allowing Bruno or Mount to move more inside.
I never have been a fan of him and was against that transfer. But he is part of the squad now and probably for at least another, probably two years. Our fullbacks don't add anything to our attack, I'd try my chances adding him there. And if things don't work out, there is no real damage done.

He may actually be more effective in that inside forward role that Amorim plays with. No more stuck on the wing, stopping and passing back.

Antony's problem is that his dribbling speed is terrible. He often gets caught by the defender even if he gets past him from the halfway line. So he'll never be PL level winger.
As a wingback, if all he has to do is run up and down the line and deliver crosses on his favorite foot, there is a chance for him to get some game time under Amorim as we basically have zero options there. Whether he actually has the ability and character to completely change his game to suit the team is a huge question mark. Basically he has to pull a reverse Bale to actually have a future at United.

He has 0 defending awareness, he is not even an intelligent player, he will never adapt to play at LB, especially in a league like this. Being tenacious and running without a purpose is not enough to become a defender.

An attacking LWB, maybe in Amorins 3-4-3. It's possible with Shaw and malacia both still out it would give us a bit of balance.

An 'attacker' who has registered a whooping 5 goals and 3 assists at his time with the club. He's welcome to hone his 'attacking' talents elsewhere, though as long as he's here he'd do well to keep quiet and do what he's paid to do.
If Amass isn't ready yet and we need a short term LWB then I wouldn't be against trying it for a few games.
Would work if the player is willing. Worked with Young and Valencia, eventually leading them to play as full time full backs. Whether he's big enough to take a manager telling him he'd not good enough to play as a forward at this level but I'd good enough to play further back is the real question.
