Delighted for him.
This is his world class trait for me, as he does it so high up the pitch as well. It creates so much space for others. If he can improve on the rest of his game, we'll have a special player. He was brilliant. He is so so talented at retaining the ball under pressure.
Interesting that guillem balegue on radio 5 live said that Anthony was the fastest player on the pitch over 10 meteres and him coming on changed the game and forced barcelona's left back to defend more.Still slow?

people find it hard to understand why he’s so vital to the side. they only notice his poor end product at times, but he’s world class between the boxes which is kind of a weird thing to say. This is his world class trait for me, as he does it so high up the pitch as well. Agreed, I'm impressed considering this is his, Martinez's and Malacia's first season, straight from the Dutch league. Their impact has been superb. It's very impressive and in a game like tonight it might have been the difference maker as having that out ball and knowing it would stick was needed on many occasions.
To be fair, United in general have idolised wingers that can beat a man and have seering pace. It's engrained in us as fans that is the standard for a top class winger, so it's sometimes to see the bigger picture.people find it hard to understand why he’s so vital to the side. they only notice his poor end product at times, but he’s world class between the boxes which is kind of a weird thing to say.
he changed the game today
the thing is he can do it like early in the 2nd, he just prefers to come shorter and play quick 1/2s.To be fair, United in general have idolised wingers that can beat a man and have seering pace. Playing previously under ETH helped him and Martinez knowing their tactical role, the pattern of the system in all phases.Agreed, I'm impressed considering this is his, Martinez's and Malacia's first season, straight from the Dutch league. Their impact has been superb.
That left foot can be the difference in a tight, big game like that.
Still 22 years old.
Not necessarily, he could still be a very good one footed player. His entire pre-season needs to be spent working on that right foot but things are looking more promising with him now. He might actually end the season on about 10 goals which is actually a half decent return.
There was one time he had space on the right if he wanted to kill the defender and the commentators pointed it out. He just needs to figure out how to make that hard of space for himself and given that he doesn’t have a Robben esque burst of acceleration it probably will have to be through increasing his upper body strength and being able to go both waysHis entire pre-season needs to be spent working on that right foot but things are looking more promising with him now. That’s football nowadays I’m afraid. One crap game, he’s the worst player ever. One great game, he’s the best thing since sliced bread. If I could be bothered I’d go back to earlier in this thread and pull up posts from the mouth frothing numpties that were writing him off. A few of us argued, in vain, how stupid it was to write a young player off in his first season, and how it was clear he had talent. Oh, and that he actually brought a lot to the team that wasn’t appreciated.
And what do you know, it takes a big goal for people to respond and say “oh I loved him all along, he gives us balance. Has a big future”. feck. People will be back to criticising him in about 5 games, and calling him a waste of space. That’s probably the most predictable thing that will happen all season.
Anyway, great performance today. And not surprising at all. We’ve missed him badly. Works so hard and keeps the ball brilliantly.
Superb technique for the finish.
