Antonio Conte Sack Watch (Napoli)

Clearly wants to be sacked. Sad situation. Not happy with life in London or at the club given the lack of condition, unloved because he plays rather boring football. Difficult to beat on occasion I guess, but uninspiring.

If he goes, Ange from Celtic should be one of their targets

How can anyone defend Conte after those statements? I mean if he had only mentioned the players it'll be different a manager throwing their players under the bus is nothing new. But talking about Spurs history is a total lack of respect.

He's toxic as feck, Mourinho on steroids. I'm so glad we didn't hire him, I remember being reports that even Chelsea squad didn't liked him when he made them champions. He's a toxic personality with some of the most boring and inflexible football I've ever seen on top.

He called the owners and chairman out at least unlike Jose who moaned a lot about clubs herritage but wasnt brave enough to point out who did he mean by that. "I have good relationship with the board, with Ed".

I've read that if he gets sacked, he gets a years salary. I'd make him work out the remainder of the season - for the badge and as he says he and his players are paid to do. I wouldn't want him feel like he's a freeloader. That would be an unesseptable situation.

That's the thing. Conte's played a blinder. He's done too much for the club not to sack him, but not enough for them to have grounds for terminating the contract.

When he referred to Spurs's lack of trophies he took a dig at the board, the fact that other managers failed before him was also the fault of the board that always protected the players instead of the managers.

This was an issue with Chelsea as well, where Chelsea felt like he kind of downed tools, sent a text to the club's star striker to tell him to feck off to China and was in breach of his contract and therefore wasn't entitled to his severance pay. Conte ended taking Chelsea to court twice and won both times but Chelsea had real issues with his conduct during that second season.

This is what he said after the 2018 January window ended and he was deeply unhappy with the business Chelsea had done.

“I’m not a diplomatic man. At the same time, I’m very honest. If I try to change myself, it’s right to stop my career. The honest person speaks very clearly in every moment. And if you are fake you try always to not tell the truth. I repeat — I prefer to be honest, to tell the truth in every moment. I hate the fake person.”

“When you decide to take a coach like me, you must know what you are taking on. I cannot change my personality.”

He is telling you himself. This is who I am. You hire me, expect for it to end in tears. He will constantly use the media to deflect blame away from himself and use the players or the club as target practice.

The most hilarious thing would be for Spurs to hire Tuchel now and then fire him in the middle of next season.

It is really surprising to see how badly the big organizations are run. I beat myself up with stupid outcomes for well thought decisions and here we see a billion dollar team going to tits up cause a bunch a morons have no clue what to do or how to run them.

If he wanted it to be a constructive argument he would have spoke about it behind close doors. Making those statements in a press conference it's humiliating for Spurs to say the least. He basically said the whole Spurs organization are losers.

Good gawd I hope not. Keep Aussie Ange away from the Spuds at all costs.
Why?

can I remind you who has been successful in Scotland at the big two;

lennon
O’Neill
Souness
Slippy G
Walter Smith

unless it’s Sir Alex reborn I wouldn’t be worrying about the level of management coming out of the SPL

@cesc's_mullet is an Aussie who supports Arsenal and wouldn't want to be in a position where he hopes Ange fails in his stint managing a Premier League club.

Because I'm an Aussie Gooner, and I want to see Ange succeed wherever he coaches. It may be a bit of a conflict of interest if I start cheering him on as he coaches the Spuds.

Yeah exactly. I want to see him really succeed, as he's entering completely new territory as far as Aussies in the World Game are concerned. We've never had a successful manager plying their trade in Europe.

How would you feel about Ange managing Liverpool whenever Klopp leaves them? The Liverpool love in here would be worse than it usually is!

I could stomach that. I don't hate Liverpool, and was happy to see them succeed at the expense of City.

My only issue would be whether the job may be too big for him? I'd hate to see him get his dream job, only to fall flat.

Could be any of Tuchel, Poch, Enrique by the sounds of it. If I had to guess it's probably going to be Tuchel though Poch returning is a possibility.

I think Tuchel would be a great appointment, personally.

But ultimately, what he said is correct. There's no escaping the fact, even if he said it for self-serving reasons, he's still right. And it's about time it was put out there like that.

Because they are. And who says he hasn't spoken about it behind closed doors?

Yes he didn't lie but he has extremely disrespectful.

How would you like ten Hag going out saying something like that? Would you just accept it?

It's funny because it's Spurs but that doesn't change the fact Conte bite the hand that feeds him.

Thats the thing right, no fan likes someone disrespecting them, Conte has had a dig at the fans at times too for not being patient.

He can go on about all this history of the Spurs and what not but the history hasn't changed? He knew what Spurs are before signing for them.

The reason Conte and Jose take on the Spurs job is because they are not at the elite level and see Spurs as an opportunity to get back there and failed.

This is as much of a L to Conte as it is to Spurs.

Conte has been backed by the board, more than any Spurs manager and he has failed to deliver.

There are Spurs fans agreeing with him and sick and tired of the acceptance of mediocrity. Levy has that club in a headlock and has gotten away with it for far too long.

Calling out what's wrong with a club instead of pretending everything is A-OK is fine for me; hushed tones do nothing to fix a problem that's seeped into the foundations of a club - by then the rot is set and it needs rooting out. Managers rarely have the stones to do it because it's their job on the line, or it's seen as deflection from them doing a bad job. Conte isn't doing a bad job, though, and he's an exacting man who'd rather be out if those around him don't aspire to what he does.

He called out everything that Spurs are infamous for; he's put the ball in their court to change, or... stay the same and be seen as the same laughing stock as they are meme'd for being.

What do you think he's failed to deliver? They have only one goal: top 4. He's on course for that, despite how dour the football is.

A trophy.

There were alot of Spurs fans with optimism, including United fans that Conte will deliver a trophy.

I mean I also saw some talk about pushing for a title race.

And if you believed that for a second it's your fault

Oh no, I didnt rate Conte, I thought that style of management doesn't work anymore, I saw first hand with Jose.

However; when you hire a manager like Conte who has won what he has, you expect a trophy at least.
