When was it Griezman signed that extended contract last year? Because you would think whatever clause is in it would activate on that day.

Because you would think if he only planned on staying due to the transfer ban there would be no hold up or pricking about this summer. He’s been planning his exit for two seasons now, you would think a deal would have been done already and he’d be off unless he is waiting for that clause.
 
I'm glad there's a world cup to distract us from 5 weeks of transfer goss. Really, really love to see Griezmann here. Been a huge fan of his for a while but I have my doubts it will happen. Hope I'm wrong on that one or he stays at Atletico. I'd loathe to see him at Barca. He'd be fantastic for us and a big character for us too.

I thought the ship had set sail when he needlessly decided to stay after that "6/10" fiasco.

Not too sure about how I'd feel about him coming to us. Yes he's a world class player, but he wouldn't address our width problem and would eat up a lot of our transfer fee. Would be comparable to the Sanchez signing.
 
I had a look at the profile of that so called "ITK" on Reddit and to be fair he seems like a longtime poster on there and he did post about the supposed "sleeve sposor" deal first which was also a couple of weeks before the claim about Griezmann was made. I guess we shall see by the end of next week if that sleeve sponsor deal comes to fruition but I find it hard to get invested in a rumour that could of been made up and posted by anyone on a message board. Still, I guess it's muppet season so anything goes :lol:
 
I think Barca might want a midfielder or two and fullback cover before they spend 100 million on another forward. They might need a CB too.

Yes, apparently, he seems to have announced it in the thread, but I don't know, I was just saying the guy already talked about the announcement. Sorry if my comment was not clear.
 
Imagine the excitement of signing Griezmann.

Then seeing him operating well below his level shoehorned in on the right side, as we try and work out who we're most upset with out of Pogba, Greizo and Sanchez.

Even if the sleeve sponsor does get announced, he could be using that info to fabricate the Griezmann story. Having info on a sponsorship deal is good insight yes but it’s not related to transfers, which is far more sensitive and uncommon insight.

That doesn't ring true to me. He's trying to slam it home a little too much. If a Utd rep let it slip I could see him going down the I've already said too much route.
Was he talking to Ed? Its ridiculous.

The idea that we've had this all signed for ages, and we're for some reason awaiting the end of the World cup is fanciful to say the least.
You'd just announce it now, it'd be sorted, and then there'd be zero distraction during the tournament.
 
Of all the silly things that happened in silly seasons, this is right on the top. It's just nonsense.

The Griezmann transfer is the turd that simply won't flush.
I am personally going to fill a very large bucket with piping hot water. Add some powerful bleach and caustic soda. And then pour it down the toilet.
This turd must be forced down the toilet pipe with great vengeance and aggression.
The guy snubbed us once (using a silly excuse which fans actually believed) and I won't be burned again. Mr Griezmann, I'm boiling the water!!!!

This is so true and it’s worrying the number of people who see the sleeve sponsor claim coming true as validating the Griezmann story.

They are in no way linked. If the sponsor is 99.99% done, as claimed, then how does it in any way give credibility to the Griezmann story?

Per his claim, the info came from someone he was speaking with that stated some facts about the player being someone we almost signed last year where a release clause was involved. 2+2=10

Exactly. The guy may be lucky in that he has links or is part of the potential Kohler deal, but he is using that link to boost his attention and he has thrown Griezmanns name into the mix as it will get far more attention. I have a feeling the Kohler deal will happen, then everyone will go crazy thinking we are getting Griezmann, then Griezmann will decide to stay in sunny Spain and Reddit guy will say that although we paid the buyout clause Griezmann changed his mind (again). People will be angry but he will get off the hook slightly, due to the Kohler deal info.
