Thanks mate.

I don't know about you but I'd say it's ON!
Confidence is growing thats for sure.

You've missed people dissecting the Griezmann advert even to the point of posting tutorials on how to use the exact watch he was wearing as there was some debate about whether he was ignoring the call or ending a call he was already in. It was Pogba style muppetry

Said it multiple times, but if anyone looked closely at our system ( when we was playing good football of course ), then our right winger has been a position on paper only, but on the pitch the RW joins the midfield and leaves Valencia alone on the right flank to hug the touchline and do the crosses. Basically Valencia has been the RB and RW for most of the season, except few times. When we turned to the highly defensive approach we took at the end of the season we started to play with real RW to track back all the time. The LW has always been hugging the left flank though but all players in this position failed except Rashford at some times.

I think this can be what Griezmann will do here in Jose's system if he's willing to play him on the right side then he'll probably cut inside and join the midfield with Mikhi ( The AMF ) while the LW, possible Perisic if we bought him, will be the LW hugging the touchline all the time.

I think Jose's taking exactly the same way he build his last Chelsea side on if we're going for this :

One attacking full back : Ivanovic = Valencia
One defensive full back : Azpe = Darmian
DMF : Matic = Herrera, can bring another one
CMF with attacking roles : Fabre = Pogba
One wing hugging the flank : Willian = Perisic if he comes
One wing with freedom in the attack ( doesn't mean he doesn't have defensive roles, but while attacking can do what he wants and not restricted to position ) : Hazard = Griezmann, possibly
A classic number 10 : Oscar = currently Mikhi. Would love to get James as he's a much better classic number 10 for Jose than Mikhi tbh.
CF : Costa = ? . That's the missing piece for me. We have only Rashford at the moment and we can't enter the season with him and injured Zlatan. We need a striker this summer.
How is Oscar a classic number 10? He was a player who worked his socks off in that team to allow players like Hazard to save his energy for attacking. He was in no way a classic #10. Never had the skills to be one

Ivanovic wasn't an attacking full back either.

Depends on the definition of " Classic number 10 " for you. What's is it ?

Also Iva was the attacking full back. Jose always attacks with one back while the other retreat for defensive duties. Iva was getting in more attacking positions than Azpe obviously.

He was more attacking than Azpi yeah, but I still wouldn't say that he played as an attacking full back in that setup.

My definition of a classic #10 is a player that can both score goals and create chances for his team mates. Oscar was in that team because he could do the dirty job for Hazard and not because he excelled attacking wise imo. Mata is miles better in that aspect.

I see your definition then and I have to admit I don't disagree with it. Regarding Mata and Oscar comparison, Mata is better technically and clinically in front of the goal but Oscar was much more suited for their system than Mata I think. It's about " the team is bigger than the sum of its parts ".

Twist: Wait this ad actually shows he was on the call with Jose

This is muppetry at its finest.
Sponsors/advertisers are feeding fans little breadcrumbs and fans are investigating the products which are being advertised.

I still remember last Summer, when Pogba's hairdresser (yes, you read that right), was being interviewed regarding the Pogba transfer and where he will be playing next season.
IIRC, Pogba's chef was also involved in the saga.

Guys, there is a lot more muppetry still to happen in this thread, before the orgasmic climax occurs.

Meanwhile, City sign up one of the best players in the world for nothing in about 20 minutes.

I suspect that the transfer will likely drag out through the Summer and he'll be with us in August, some time.
Guys, don't blow your load just yet - we have about 2 months to get through, before the climax; pace yourselves. :p

Because the buyout clause will have to be paid in lumpsum(which is quite rare in football, usually its paid in installments), the club might negotiate a bit higher fee as to get him on an installment based payment.

Just a guess.

Wow, how did you find that out? Mental if that is the case. No wonder they would push and make it as difficult as possible so that we would be forced to pay the buyout amount.

Surely it's the most logical conclusion? Otherwise, who decides over what period of time it's supposed to be paid in? Could a club could just say that they'll pay it in installments over 50 years?

Reminds me of the Adidas blah blah stuff with Pogba last year. Clearly a marketing stunt. The deal is probably already done.
