I don't think they'd be 'bids' as such, I always thought it'd be a contract with the breakdown of sums on it.

Indeed. This has seemingly been reported accurately by the actual journalists, throughout.

The only way that these supposed "in the knows" could trump that info was to attempt to provide a timescale on the deal. They all took a guess (on the basis of no information whatsoever), they all got it wrong, and, in the process, outed themselves as charlatans.
