Football clubs need to be protected somehow against guys like this(charlatans, as you said). NFL-like system of guaranteed and non-guaranteed money. Tear the contract with some light compensation and get him out of the club.

I'd love to see us move to a more variable comp system, with lower basic wages and higher bonuses for achieving performance-based metrics. Forces players to have more skin in the game and takes some of the risk away from signing players that don't work out.

Onana and Martial could be a brilliant combo if Anto is finally behind his fitness issues.
I'm a big fan of Martial but that's a huge if.
I've finally given up and just accepted that he'll be a bit part player if he stays. He looked so good last preseason before the injuries started again, and even after coming back you could tell he was limited physically in comparison to how he looked at the start of the season.
Same pattern every year. Pre season looks sharp, competitive games arrive and looks less sharp, then gets injured and misses huge swathes of the season. We’re not going to go there yet again are we….

His united career is already over. This season he will be playing for his own future. He's out of contract at the end of the season and even he wants to secure a move to the Saudi league on a free, he'll still need to prove that he can stay fit and score goals.

My hope is he's ready to push himself to have a big season, keep fit, leave United on a high and push for a distant Euro spot with France.

This is a massive season for Martial with only 1 + 1 year left on his contract, no doubt he will be extra motivated to either win over ETH to get another year extension, or put himself in the shop window.
No he won't as long as Ten Hag is here yes he will need to improve his production but I don't think he is failing in what Ten Hag wants from him first and foremost .
