The only thing Giroud is better at is heading, which he's a specialist to be fair. Still, I would contest that Martial is a specialist with his head and the only difference between the two is Giroud's height advantage. The myths that Martial doesn't have the physicality of a CF, the pressing, the hold up play, etc. are constantly contradicted every time the man is on the pitch, but they still incredulously persist for some. Last night for example, the guy was winning foul after foul because defenders can't get the ball off him or nudge him off it without fouling. The truth is Martial has been getting better and better at combining his strength, ball control and trickery and will soon be unplayable as a CF, a nightmare for defenders. Ole can see it and that's all that matters for Man Utd's attack. For France I don't even think Giroud is the biggest problem for pushing their attack to another level, I believe it's Griezmann who's currently holding a starting position in the middle that he doesn't deserve, and which consequently weakens their midfield as Kante is getting old and isn't physically as good at doing the midfield hustle work of two players. Drop Grizzou, play a actual midfield three, a front three, go on the front foot and no team is coming close in my view. I'm not holding my breath though, Deschamps is as stubborn as they come.
