He'll be world class goalscorer when he's 40 guys. We just need to give him another 16 years to fully develop himself
Oh mate, I’m sorry. It was so good I believed you
It was a trap for the fan boys
For feck's sake.from an excellent FY 19/20
I've always believed he wasn't a natural 9 but I have always disagreed with a poster about it, I just don't remember who. He can play in some moments like a striker (back to the goal and bring others into play) but when it comes to having that decisive run or that explosive attacking action inside the box, he doesn't feel like a natural one to me.He's been shit all season. No9 my arse.
Imo Ole should drop him next match and play Cavani. Then we'll see how he'd react to that. I still have hope in him but his recent form simply doesn't deserve a starting slot.
No I haven't.You've changed your tune about Martial
But in all seriousness I agree, he's just not producing and needs dropping. At the very least, needs shifting to the left with Cavani down the middle and rashford on the right, Ole needs to mix it up a bit!
No I haven't.
Back then I agreed that his form was bad but I still had hope for him. Now it's the same.
P/s: for me it seems it's you who changed your tune. You want him to play as LW now but back then you wanted to get rid of him and buy a new #9.
Did I sound like I was angry?Jesus mate, calm down.
Well we're kind of stuck with him for now arent we until the transfer window opens. The least we can do is move him off the number 9 position where he was been dagshite this season and try him on the left, I don't know maybe he'll do something meaningful there
I wouldn't worry about Martial, he's just a slow starter like Smokin' Joe Frazier. He'll bag in a few goals soon enough.
By our recent standards he was. Hence he won our players POTY I think. Anyhoo, it doesn't matter. He hasn't shown up this season which is a big problem and he needs to turn his form around quickly. For feck's sake.
I wouldn't say that. I think he was more or less in the right position. The concern with him is his movement, or rather the lack of it. He's clearly a player who comes to life more with the ball at his feet. He's also not as clinical as we'd like him to be for a number 9. I felt he worked on that aspect a bit more towards the middle of last season, but he's forgotten it all now and is back to early season Martial again.I didn't view last nights game, nor have I watched the highlights. So did Martial and Rashford occupy the same spot on occasions on the left hand side again (with no one in the centre) ?
Its been a annoying feature of the two players preference in recent times.
His sulking when brought off is irritating as feck. He was lucky he wasn’t hauled off at half time. Needs a massive kick up the arse.
At times grandpa Cavani pressed more than him.
What long term? We should be looking to sell him in the summer.Keep him on the left please. It's the position that masks most of his problems imo. Allows him more opportunities to have a run against a defender and uses his good dribbling abilities.
He'll never be a top goal scorer to play as number 9 but he'll be more useful for us on the left long term.

Ive said that to my son more than once. He hangs on when a quick pass is the right option, tries his pirouette then drops to the floor. He needs benching and told he needs to up his game when he gets chances. I would try him the last 20 mins in the next 3-4 games. Give Greenwood his spot. Start Cavani Greenwood Rashford up top for next 3-4 games see how or if they gel. Cant do any worse.I know this is a harsh thing to criticize him for but I feel like he looks for the foul too much. He has lovely feet to shift out of pressure and gets hacked a lot, but I just feel sometimes he could try a bit harder to poke the ball towards a teammate when getting kicked and we would have so many men forward on the break.
Weird detail to criticize I know, but just annoying for me personally.
That’s a very low set bar.Why would he have been hauled off at half time. Looked good in the first time, and facing up to the opposition is where he’s strongest.
didn’t play well in the second half, but many didn’t. Natural for the team to take their foot off the pedal.
