Ah great. Martial FC has started their whining again. He's actually playing well.
 
Been our best player in January. Scored in 3 games straight and then he's shoved out to the right wing to accommodate Sanchez who can actually play on the right.

Yes he prefers to be on the left, but as is the case for 99% of young players, they aren't the best player in the team and have to play a supporting role to the better players.

We best not see a long pouting session from him like what happened when Zlatan came in.
 
We’d be far better with Jesse on the right and Sanchez at #10.
 
He should at least swap with Lukaku. Lukaku's a bigger threat than him on the right and Martial is a better striker
 
I’m still not convinced Mourinho really rates him. He’s probably been playing because Rashford has been too shit these days.

Martial is in the best form of his life, having his most prolific season ever in terms of goals and assists but what does Mourinho do when Sanchez arrives?
He immediately pushes him out to the right, a position where he’s far from effective.

Sadly some people saw this coming but I was far too deluded.
 
Has till been our best player on the right created chance out of nothing forcing a good save
He has not been a problem today
We have got into some good positions in final third so far today

Problem is further back
Noticeable how is he not being double marked today for a change
 
Mistake number one was to displace Martial to accomodate Sanchez on the left.

You're right he's still probably our most dangerous player. Tactically however he holds the width more compared to Sanchez and we could do with more structure in our attacks .. for that reason alone we need him on the left

Yeah it doesn't make sense to me either. I hope I'm wrong can see him getting sacrificed now for Herrera because we desperately need another midfielder.

The funny thing is that; He is our best player.
 
For the overall benefit of the team he should come back to the left and give Sanchez the free role to operate from the right and join the attack.
Perhaps bring in Herrera to shore up the midfield and help Valencia in defence.
Not rocket science but Mourinho wants to make it complicated.

Sanchez is a proven player and more likely to score or create from nothing in a pressure situation. So shifting him to his favored position when 2-0 down makes sense. Martial has been doing okay on the right.

He's been one of our better players of late with 3 goals and an assist in the last three games. He hasn't been pouting while playing on the right today but it is clear he is better on the left. We've known that for the last few years.
 
Even though he's out of position on the right, he's still been our best player in that half. Him and Sanchez the only one's who look half decent, and Martial the only one looking a threat. If he gets subbed off I'll be pissed

He had been on the left since pretty much the start of the game - not only when 2:0 down.
 
Failed by the tactics today. Not sure what Mou was thinking.

Disagree. Sanchez is new in the team and Mourinho should let anyone prove themselves to earn they're favoured position, especially when Martial's been on a good run lately.
 
Poor half from Martial. Lack of movement and not showing enough for the ball.

We can't afford for him to go missing when our midfield are getting so outnumbered.
 
Just want to put it out there, that people have been slamming Rashford's performances lately due to his performances on the right accommodating so Martial can play on the left, ruthless comments too, such as headless chicken, Championship level, should be sent on loan and even sold.

Martial goes out on the right though for 45mins, so Sanchez can play on the left (maybe Jose thinks that's his strongest position?) and what do we see in this thread, double standards, people defend Martial and blame Jose.

Sure Martial's strongest position is on the left, but so is Rashford's.

Rashford has been shit on the left. No need to peddle falsehood.

Rashford has barely played on the right this season. He's played mostly on the left and hasn't been as good as Martial there. That is why he's on the bench right now and hardly anyone is saying he should be sold.

Edit: Someone's just said in the match thread that he'd be happy if Martial was sold so it isn't something that happens exclusively to Rashford. Rashford isn't being harshly treated by Mourinho.

Despite his flashes of brilliance sometimes, I still don't trust him not to lose the ball when we have a rare decent attacking opportunity.
 
Gets away with murder.. 2-0 down with 15 mins to go and he runs over to Son and rubs him on the top of his head.

Has not and never will have the mentality to be an elite player.
 
Was actually better on the right than he was on left. Whole team was pathetic though.
 
Looks like the only player who can make the right pass at the right time. There wasn’t any great performances and very little to shout about but he was probably the best of a really bad bunch.
