Writing was on the wall when Rashford was in on goal last season and Elanga came out of nowhere and tackled him
When he first broke into the team in 21/22 he looked decent. Not starting material for a top team, but he looked like he could develop into a good squad player for a top team or a starter for a mid-to-low table team. He struggled quite badly in his second season though, so time will tell whether his early form was just a flash in the pan or if he will grow into a player that is quite good for a team like Forest. It's also worth noting that he's played mostly on the right for us but is probably better on the left. Not to talk down on anyone, but this deal for someone who barely played past season, is it because of scoring against Atletico last year in the UCL?
I know it's not unusual for BPL players, but 4 professional goals for a forward warranting that amount of money, to me, seems odd, no?
Of course, scouting includes more than just wikipedia'ing the guy, but then the past season would complicate things in that regard.
Speaking of scouting,
I guess he is the kind of player who can do a job when being a wide (finishing) forward or 2-up-front striker focusing on running deep and scoring? As a more all round winger or single striker, it seems less likely to succeed? Or will we see an Iwobi type transformation?
No he won't. Much better player than people are making out. Elite athleticism and good attacking movement off the ball and a great worker out of possession. He has a great foundation to build on and at the right club, he can become a good player. He's not United quality but far worse players than him have made great careers in the game.In three years time he will be playing for an average team in the Swedish Allsvenskan. £15m is a terrific deal if true.

Having a career playing in a top league and I would include the Championship and any of the top five leagues at that. Scott McTominay for example has far less ability than Elanga and regardless of what happens next will look back having had a great football career for himself. Elanga was a youth standout at United. Guys like Robbie Savage were not but ended up having very good careers. What do you think a 'great career in the game' is? Who are you thinking about?
When will this deal close?
Good to hear. What about Henderson?Medical done - signing this afternoon.
Thanks but no, thanksAny buy back clause
Tap-in....
True. While he is not United quality I am sure with regular game time he will improve and end up being sold to a mid table club. So sell-on clause would be good for us.
I always liked him. Shame he lacks a bit of maturity in the final third and has some tunnel vision. I think he'll do fine at Forest.
Relatively easy transfer he was only on £5k per week wages so this was the easy one
Look at the others like B Williams, E Bailey, D Henderson, DVB will be tough to sell on their high wages

Follow the link and add Manchester United then hit the update button, our wage bill compared to others is simply ridiculous
The problem with Henderson is his £120k per week wages, that’s 40k per week more than their current highest earner this is the real issue with the hood up, Forrest want to pay him 80k max and give him a signing on fee to make up the rest, so they want United to drop value from £25m to £15-17m to subsidise his wagesHenderson to Forrest.
Bailey to Saudi club.
The tough one is Donnie.

He was signed on a free with a 1 year contract for £170k per week package, now it’s expired, no transfer fee so they pay the player a lump sum which is then divided by 52 which tops up his actual salary.Correct me if i am wrong but i thought Lingard was on a very high wage at Nottingham forest. I cannot remember the exact figure but it made him choose Forest over other clubs if i recall.
I sent a link which shows all United players wages, some are ridiculous?Yeah yet again the wages are stumbling block

Let’s slate and ridicule you instead. Barnes is miles better than Elanga.John Murtough the deal maker, 15m is garbage for a Swedish international. The amount of spin in here again. United don't sell players well ect. Harvey Barnes, Anthony Gordon recently and James Trafford yesterday. Yeah the English tax but United never get a good price. This is down to people giving out stupid wages in contracts/poor negotiating. They can see the circus coming. Maybe this wasn't an issue a few years ago when United had money, but they are broke now and ffp is apparently a thing.
Club deserve to be absolutely slated and ridiculed. Won't change until competent people are in charge. Feel sorry for ETH having to work with such fools. Be interesting to see what happens with Henderson now.
That site is basic wages not images rights or added bonuses in the contract, financial report also reports expenses as wages like the Glazers spending £1m to watch 3 cup finals men and Woman with a chartered plane? The Club total wage bill will be £330-340m, down from £386m the year previously. That site is crap, chech the official wages reported in financial report, it's not a big difference between ManUtd, City, Chelsea, Liverpool.
