The kind of deal we should be making 2-3 times every season. Squad player or academy player who has had their time in the team but won't make it here and needs to move on.
He was on loan and incomparable anyway due to his age. I was making the point that we rarely, if ever, sign players of Elanga’s profile so it’s impossible to guess what price we would be quoted. And weghorst. Could name a few that aren’t bad players but we’ve signed them and they’ve turned bad.
There’s no youth team thats able to churn out 2/3 £15m players every season. The kind of deal we should be making 2-3 times every season. Squad player or academy player who has had their time in the team but won't make it here and needs to move on.

Ye that’s true. But my point was because of who we are we get quoted ridiculous prices compared to other teams. He was on loan and incomparable anyway due to his age. True,The difference is he can still improve a ton, is an excellent athlete, works hard, and is not a meme.
Its football though not MMA.True,
He has worked incredibly hard at United, I remember the other pre season where he filmed himself in the gym, looked like an absolute machine.

Not to talk down on anyone, but this deal for someone who barely played past season, is it because of scoring against Atletico last year in the UCL?£15m is a good deal for both parties. He’s got a solid career ahead of him for sure, but it was never going to be at United.
Just for comparison McTominay is on 60k, 5k less than him.
For all the hate McT has received, he should really feel mistreated by his low wages. Till last year, he was a regular for almost 3 seasons in the team and everyone around him, from the kit man, the tea lady to the random player who made a five minute cameo in a league cup game, seem to have a bigger contract than him.

I know it's not unusual for BPL players, but 4 professional goals for a forward warranting that amount of money, to me, seems odd, no?
Of course, scouting includes more than just wikipedia'ing the guy, but then the past season would complicate things in that regard.
Speaking of scouting,
I guess he is the kind of player who can do a job when being a wide (finishing) forward or 2-up-front striker focusing on running deep and scoring? As a more all round winger or single striker, it seems less likely to succeed? Or will we see an Iwobi type transformation?

Just because he’s played 20 odd games in a poor United team, doesn’t mean he’s better than a player than hasn’t broken into City’s first team.Players who haven't even played for senior team are sold for 14 million, compared to that 15 million is a good price for buying club.

Yes but not the technical and mental stuff.True,
But I'd imagine being toned but ripped will assist in many attributes in football.
That is our general transfer strategy - buy at £15 or so, develop and sell on at £50m. Our forward line this season could be Elanga, AwoniyI, Johnson and Danilo- all very quick players with MGW hitting the early pass on the break.£15m is a very good price for what he's shown us.
Nottingham are building up quite the collection of similarly priced players. A lot won't work out but young and cheap isn't that bad a strategy.
It does show though we need to drastically lower the salary we offer players if we want to sell well. City selling their academy talents for £15m a pop is primarily due to them being low salary.
Henderson is on £100k, Brandon Williams on £60k, there's no need for bit part squad players to be on such high salaries. Even the likes of Van De Beek and Sancho should be on way lower than what they are. Between Henderson, Williams, VDB there's probably around £50m of transfer fees there if they were on lower wages.
Your team gets a young, promising player with high potential. I feel sad to see him leave but feel it would work out the best for both Elanga and Forest. That is our general transfer strategy - buy at £15 or so, develop and sell on at £50m. That’s the worst part, imagine looking forward to a couple of days in New York then being told to fly 8 hours back to Nottingham? Gutted.Poor bloke just flew to New York and now has to go straight back.
He lacked product but teams were visibly scared of his pace. Not to talk down on anyone, but this deal for someone who barely played past season, is it because of scoring against Atletico last year in the UCL?

Players at the top end of the pitch will always earn more, they do the difficult stuff. For all the hate McT has received, he should really feel mistreated by his low wages. Yeah but he can’t tackle, he’s better at running in behind so he should stick to that.Honestly wouldn't be surprised if he reinvents himself as a wingback. Incredible physical attributes and decent defensive awareness. Good deal for all parties.
Yes we do - we needed one last season too. Coopers philosophy seems to be low press / quick turnover and break. The evolution this season will be trying to string two passes together when in possession. We were bloody hopeless at keeping the ball last season.Your team gets a young, promising player with high potential. He seemed lost the way on pitch last season on what his role should be and how to do it the best way. As a result, whenever he got minuets to play, he seemed so confused, and he got even less opportunities one after another.
Your team seemed to me needs a left wing attacker which is the nature position of Elanga. You also have Gibbs-White and Johnson. These are very young, technically silky, physically strong players. It’s interesting to see how and which direction Forest to evolve the playing style.
Urgh! Not this shit again.£15m is actually decent not just as an individual sale but also for setting a precedent for future sales. With Elanga going for £15m it makes the prices for McTominay, Fred, Maguire higher. If we’d sold Elanga for £8m then Fred goes for £15, now can see us getting £25m -£30m for Fred, £35m for McTominay and £40m for Maguire doesn’t seem outrageous

It will be a relegation protection - I’ve heard there is built in extensions of 1 and 2 years.A 1 year deal ? That's abit weird isn't it.
