Ange Postecoglou | New Spurs boss on 4 year contract

Good going forward, poor defensively

Dragusin and Udogie arent good

It’s like Ten Hag here (and the win percentage isn’t that different). It’s not the individual players, I don’t think. It’s what they are being asked to do.

You put those two players in a normal looking defensive set up and they are good players, just like our midfielders.

He is well liked, but his football will always be inconsistent and defenders will always be making mistakes.

They're in last 8 of Carabao Cup (will probably be favourites to beat us as home team), one of favorites to win Europa and 3 points behind top 4 currently. Ange is not getting sacked but they're definitely losing too many times, 5 defeats in 11 PL games is not a good look. To lose at Palace (their first only win so far this season) and home vs Ipswich (also first win of the season) must be frustrating.

I think its still better than Ten Hag because at least the attacking players are doing well and you're seeing goals, exactly what we didnt get from ETH

To win the league cup they're still going to have to get past at least one of Liverpool/Arsenal, maybe both.

Surprised they're favourites to win the Europa. There's plenty of decent teams in that tournament that could knock Spurs out in the KOs. Infact if Man. United can get their act together I'd back you to beat them in a two legged tie given what you did to Liverpool and Man. City last season. The squad you have currently is more of a cup tie team really.

FA cup hasn't even started yet for the contenders.

Doing nothing in the league so that's where it gets difficult if he's finishing 8th/9th at the end of the season as that's a significant drop off from last year and their squad is better.

Yeah, it’s definitely better, because something works, but they are spinning their wheels. The fact he is charismatic and affable paints over the cracks.

They are way too one dimensional and the football they play will never be successful because it will never be consistent. There will always be the games where it goes wrong

He is so overrated. Doesn’t even come off well when he speaks. He has made no attempt to fix how open they are in over a year. You can’t outscore teams in the league every week. You aren’t Fergie and United in his last season here.

He will be given this season. I’m saying he gets fired next season.

Probably but he’ll have to be careful. City away, Bournemouth away then Chelsea coming up they could be in huge trouble if they don’t pick up many points

He’s been given a free ride from the press as well but I feel the pressure might start to build

Their results will continue to be erratic up until the point his job becomes untenable. Sounded like the atmosphere at the game was pretty hostile. He’s not a Klopp or Pep who can stick stubbornly with his philosophy and not show any flexibility and that will be his downfall.

City away next so they are quite likely to be below us and in the bottom half after 12 games (one would hope, anyway).

If he doesn't win a trophy I reckon he's gone soon.

But all that matters is style of play.

Sky Sports have been lecturing us all for years…it’s DNA and style of play, forget winning trophies.

Big Ange is doing an amazing job.

Wasn’t it Tim Sherwood in the studios getting all giddy about how Spurs have an identify under Ange and how good they are now. They’re shit. We were shit but we are close to them in the table, yet the media lap them up.

We will beat them in Carabao cup

I thought last season was good for him in the context of where they were predicted after losing Kane and where they ended up.

The problem is that they started on fire under him then got found out. His job was really, really clear after that. He has to find a middle ground between the free flowing football but also find a way to add a bit of stability.

I think they are lacking an experiences centre back and midfielder in their squad.

Spurs are insanely inconsistent.

Last week they destroyed Aston Villa 4-1, before that they beat citeh (before it came fashionable and everyone jumped on the bandwagon) and then they go and lose at home to previously winless Ipswich.

When they're good, they're really good and are exciting to watch. When they're bad they plumb the depths.

I hope it works out for him though, I like him as a character.

The game before the City win was a loss to previously winless Crystal Palace. Ange is a good man making sure there are no winless clubs in the prem.

I like him but I don’t think his teams are good enough out of possession - Celtic were always smashed in Europe under him for this reason despite creating chances and looking good going forward.

Another guy who doesn’t know what a midfield is relying on scoring more in the basketball game

Exactly right. I reckon it's easy enough to get into the top four with good players set up sensibly (even conservatively). It won't win leagues, but Ole and Ruud played the most basic midfield, and we started brushing average sides away. Ten Hag and Ange do the opposite, and you get spanked through the season.
