For a club of our size, do you think we can really afford to miss out on starlets? It would be a crying shame unless we can produce our own which we haven't in recent years.

Mexes would be a good start
Aghahowa another
Some of the Cameroon youngsters (whose names slipped my mind) - they have a really good squad and it's been that way for the past couple of years.</strong><hr></blockquote>

Agreed about the first two. Can't really comment on the Cameroon players though. I'm sure Roy could provide some.

I should qualify my statements further by saying a moderately priced "starlet".

Mexes might not be that cheap, aghahowa perhaps but his price will soar if he turns in a good performance for nigeria in the WC.

Africa seems to be a really good continent to pick out these bargain youngsters - I watched several highlights of the African Nations Cup and some special features of african youth football and the cameroonians impressed me the most. I won't be the least bit surprised if they knock out a few big wigs in the WC.

Any help on cameroon young players is appreciated, Roy.

For a couple of years ago a player like Aghahowa would have cost 2 million dollars. Now they cost 10m dollars. That makes it a big risk to buy talents if they arent making it.
