Andreas Pereira

Dare I say he reminds me of Zidane in the ease he moves the ball and beats players. Looks very impressive, even more so given the state of the pitches. Horrible playing on bumpy and dry pitches.

The similarity struck me immediately as well. Looks to have all the time in the world no matter what in those clips.

For some reason I'm not able to watch the video do to copyright restrictions in my country.

I just watched the vid again so I could describe it to Ace. Based on that vid this kid is ridiculously talented. The reports when he signed stated that he was one of the very very best young players in the World and that every top club in Europe was after him and now we can see why.

In the vid he plays in four U16 international games for Belgium. He score five goals in those four games, two penalties (one of which he wins himself going round the keeper), two free kicks and a tap in. It is safe to say that he is a dead ball specialist.

His position is AM but he hits Xavi Alonso-esque passes from deep at times too, he is clearly a free role player, a star player.

He seems to have everything except for a left foot. He has great close control, he can pass cutely in enclosed spaces, he has the vision and accuracy of passing to hit long balls playing his strikers in, he can go past players and has great flair (has a bit of the show boat in him), he hits great free kicks, is a very confident penalty taker, he looks determined and even gets his foot in too.

From that vid, which isn't your average you tube 'greatest hits' vid, it is nine minute video of fours games, he looks fecking sensational! Think that vid of the eight year old Australian kid only at U16 International level.

based on that video he looks very talented- particularly his close control, balance, vision, set piece taking and passing ability, but you'd have to say he looks pretty one-footed.

He hits some lovely passes with his left foot. 05:14, for example.

yeah there were about 2-3 left footed passes in there, some of them were quality too but it reminded me of Maradona how he pretty much used his right for 99% of everything he had to do (ofc Maradona used his left but you get what I mean)

Looks amazing. We have some really talented kids at the moment. Daehli, Januzaj, stand out. Not to mention some of the other great kids in the reserves such as Cole, Lingard, Keane twins and Petrucci.

Now looks like we can add Perreria to the list. Hopefully a couple will make the ultimate step in the first team. Can't wait to watch these guys develop. Dare I say it must be exciting Fergie as well seeing these talented kids and might even prolong his stay.

I was thinking that before. I really hope the SAF will be here to bring this new generation through. I don't see any reason why he can't go on until 75 though.

Heres another more condensed version of the video hopefully you can see this one

He looks incredible.

Have to bear in in mind, though, at such a young age it's easier for kids that are a bit more developed to take the piss. We'll learn a lot more watching him for our U-18s. Looking forward to it.

That is more applicable to physical attributes though, he isn't bigger or faster than everyone else on the pitch, he is just better.

Being able to pass accurately and hit free kicks into the top corner is something that is the same at all levels. The only difference at the top level is the pace of the game, the physicality of the players (though that is less important these days) and the pressure of expectation.

I agree. As the video is shown from an international tournament, the players are the cream of that age group from that country.

After watching the likes of rossi & pogba of the recent years, i think andreas will fly through the under 18's & make an odd apperance for the reserves later on, just as daheli has this season.

I really hope we dont try and take his flair away like anderson.

We should let the players be free to express themselves and then teach them responsibility afterwards.

He really does look exciting though.

Has Anderson ever been fit long enough for our coaches to do anything to him, let alone take away his flair?

Obviously Fergie wanted him to be something different to a ACM, but his injuries are the reason, he hasn't been a success.

Did United try to tone down Ronaldo, Nani, hell even Ravel?

Of course.

Anderson at porto was an AM, who played with freedom and creativity.

We stuck him in our CM and gave him shackles, and he has not looked the same type of player.

Maybe all the injuries and the pies are to blame, i just dont want him too suffer the same fate.

You can't tell what we've done with Anderson, he only played 15 games for Porto and wasn't particularly impressive in any of them apparently. Scored just one goal. It was a different case at Gremio where he was apparently very offensive and produced a lot, but that was as a 17-year old, it cannot be used as any kind of measure.

Look at his shooting.

Pereira(number 8) scored twice and got an assist for Belgium under 16s against Ireland yesterday. City target Zakaria Bakkali(number 11) also got 2 and united target David Henen(number 9) scored the fifth after a nice step over and pass from Pereira. The teams will play again tomorrow.

Reading great things about his, hopefully Pereira already been here may help us out with that transfer.

Yeah along with him being a united fan and already being over to carrington.I think he turns 16 in the next few days so i guess we could find out fairly soon if he is signing a new deal with anderlecht or moving.

Hearing great things about Henan?

Yeh read quite a few articles recently linking us with him, claiming he is one of the top talents around in his age group and we close to signing him, although I suppose a lot of young players get that kind of tag

Bakkali the number 11 in that video got player of the tournament at the premier cup hosted by United last summer and city have been pushing hard for him so much so that PSV have apparently told him that if he stays he'll be involved with the first team from the start of next season even though he only turned 16 in January. From what I've seen of him he looks an exceptional young player.

Noe Baba who is rumored to be joining United in the summer was the number 4 and captain of Ireland

Aye. He looks exceptional in the videos that I have seen of him. Do you know how PSV felt about Pereira's departure, was he rated as highly?

was that Ireland's U16s or U17s? defense looks dreadful throughout that entire video.

Its the under 16s. Yeah they look a bit of a shambles alright. They both brought B teams aswell and Ireland won 3-1 in the B game

As far as I know they rated him very highly and expected him to be a part of their first team within 2 years and he was the captain of the C1 team but I think he made it fairly clear he wanted to join United so PSV didnt fight as hard to keep him as they are with Bakkali.

Heres a couple more videos of Pereira(number 10) from the premier cup last summer. Looks to be a real free kick expert

So next year would he play for the academy or would he go straight into the reserves? Does it depend solely on ability or is age a factor?
