Cardiff 1:5 Man Utd
I'm very happy to see him came off the bench today no matter how many mins he played as that just shows he is still highly regarded by everyone at United

Yeah I was happy he was brought on at the same time as fellaini, nice turn near the end to control the ball too. Hopefully will integrate him more as a pogba replacement over the rest of the season.

Yeh. He lost the ball a bit, but he's been off the team for months.
Even if he can't nail in a definite starter, he's the type of player that would make a very good squad player. He just need to be shown Scholes videos on how small frame technical midfielder can survive in Premier League.

Came on where he should be playing, def not an holding midfielder....

Whilst I'm sure that is the case, I don't think an appearance today gives any indication about who is highly regarded. Ole has already told reporters he will give everyone a chance.

Im not even sure what his best position is at this point in his career but he looked wasted at Valencia as an inverted winger. He's looked good as a holding midfielder IMO, but he's also adept at being the number 10 so it all depends on where Ole thinks he fits in best.

I thought he jumped in and looked very good on the ball, last 5 mins in particular he had some good one touch passing. Think he'll end up being a player that Ole will really like.

Agreed. His use of the body and carrying the ball reminds me of City's Silva. I don't think he should be a DM or playing deep.

Think him, Herrera and Pogba could be very strong midfield 3, with Herrera at the base.

It will be interesting to see in what position will Ole try to play him. Decent cameo, hope he doesn't leave us for Santos.

The swivel and stepovers were 100% Fat Ronaldo's moves. He must be a fan of the fatman.

Hoping Ole phases hin into the XI because Herrera and Matic can't navigate their way out of a press with crafty moves or attack space properly

Keep disrespecting 'O' Fenomeno' and you and I gonna hafto take it outside pal.

Some years ago I compared him with Thiago Alcantara in terms of profile, and I still feel that he's a potential 6/8 more than a winger or an advanced midfielder. I don't think he's got the explosiveness to make a difference in wide areas, and even if we play him as a 'false winger' coming inside, he doesn't have that gunpowder to reach the box, anticipate defenders and finish chances regularly.

The way I see Pereira he's a smart player to control games and keep it ticking. He knows to move in short spaces, he's got good vision and a very polished touch. Set pieces specialist as well, not a bad weapon to have. He works hard off the ball and doesn't avoid a challenge, which is not always the case with this talented 'classy' players. I think Pereira could be fine in a midfield two next to a more conservative player, or being one of the inners in a 4-3-3.

I've followed the kid coming through our ranks and it's always nice to see one of these boys making it in the first team. I honestly hope he remains this season and plays a good number of games, and then in the summer everyone would be able to evaluate things better and make a decision. I think it would be a shame if we let him go now without giving him a single chance before, as I'm convinced that he's got the tools to be a good player for us, that can keep developing with time. Maybe the next cup games could be a good start.

Can imagine Ole made it a point to give him a chance and the staff told him that Mourinho froze him out for no reason so giving him some minutes is today is the perfect way to start off in the right direction and show him he has a chance again. Same with Fellaini. Ole showing both that even though theres a managerial change and there will always be talk, they both have a role to play. Great subs from a mental view point.

He also won it back and started the move that lead to the 5th, so did his part.

Chuffed he got on.
Yeh. That last turn and dribble was also encouraging.

It’s hard to get anything from 5 min. time. I wished he had more while leading 4-1 since the min. 70s. I can feel it that this young man could become a special player, given the right guidance.

Just edit out the slide tackles

I think it's fair to say the next 5 months are the biggest of his career. If OGS doesn't play him and if he doesn't show himself as an auto starter....I think he'll be allowed to leave.

Agreed. Fellaini needs this 6 months more than anyone if he has a future here. If he still gets game time...most people respect Ole's opinion more than jose's or moyes.

Happy to see him over McTominay on the bench (haven't given up on Scot but he is more in need of a loan than Andreas). If he is given time then I'm sure he will be at least a strong rotation player in a couple of months but that will be as an advanced midfielder or occasionally on the right. He is super talented technically.

He’s just a fantastic little player. Basically just sprints for whatever time he’s on the pitch.

Very much looking forward to seeing him getting more gametime this season. Hopefully he can stake a claim to becoming a big featured player, at the very least off the bench, for next season.

Was there ever any reason given for why Jose froze him out? He bigged him up all through pre-season, and made a point of praising him after the opening game against Leicester. And then just.... puffft. Nothing.

The only things I can think of are his start in our loss to Brighton, and the fact he was sat next to Pogba during the whole “Instagram fiasco”.... neither of which seem remotely significant enough to freeze him out. But then that was always one of the most frustrating things about Mourinho. His seemingly arbitrary grudges and selective punishments for poor performances.

I think it was just another petty thing by Jose which left us on the verge of losing a potentially very good player due to Jose's mentality of being a twat.

Just Mourinho being Mourinho.

Just like Scholes, eh?

He doesn't have to an auto starter. But he needs to be on the easier games, or when on significant lead.

But what do I know. I thought Cleverley and Welbeck would have a good future at United.
