im always worried about young creative players going to the championship, it a really hard league for that kind pf player to thrive.

And the premier league isn't? The cream always rises to the top

It's a fairly unforgiving environment for a player like Andreas who for the U21s has a gigantic discrepancy between his highest level and his very worst. I think he should be okay, though, I'd honestly prefer a move elsewhere. I still hold hope for PSV.

Its a league where hustle and bustle, graft and heart are valued more by coaches. It would be easy for a player like Periera to get lost in there. I havent seen many Championship players becoming Man Utd players over the years.
A huge misconception imo, there is a long list of smaller/weaker technical players flourishing in the Championship in recent years. Hoolahan, Knockaert, Ritchie, Judge, Swift, Russell, Ince, Josh Murphy, Redmond, Bamford and Pritchard off the top of my head have all been successful in the Championship in recent years and they are far from just hustle and bustle and graft and heart players.

Good technical players will do well anywhere, if he can be hussled off the ball there easily then it'll not be easier in the PL.

The kid needs game time, championship would suit him fine. If he can't hack it there, then he hasn't got it.

To my knowledge most times you buy a good young player, you rarely are buying them from anything other than a lower league team (and sometimes not a particular good one). If a young player struggles at a lesser level, I really not sure they'll be able to hack it in the Prem...

So how many of the so called weaker technical players have made the jump from the Championship to the EPL in the last 20 years?
BTW Ritchie is in no way a weak player.

It's a great competition for youngsters to learn to look after themselves. Just because you're a technical player doesn't mean you're entitled to a free ride, having a side built around you and letting others do the dirty work for you. There are many academy players who can do the fundamental basics well the majority of the time but have not got an outstanding attribute(s) or personality to make it at the highest level.

Having great technique doesn't make you a great player. Andreas is not an exceptional talent who should be fast-tracked. He is a good talent with a long way to go and unfortunately the last year was wasted when he should have been out on loan getting first team experience.

Hope his loan gets sorted quickly, doesn't do him any favours training with the reserves and not playing any matches at any level.

Nobody said he was entitled to a free ride or that a side should be built around you so others could do the dirty work for you so not sure why thats being brought up.

Bottom line, over the last 20 years the Championship hasnt been seen as a conveyer belt for producing quality players for the EPL. Most young players are now coming through via the top European leagues or via the big clubs youth systems. Dropping down to the Championship might work out for him but I think he would be better off loaned out to another European top league.

Im trying to think of the names of Man Utd quality players who have come to us via the Championship over the last 20 years.....

Laughing at the Fulham forum, they don't feel they could give Pereira the minutes. He would be their best player ffs.
Moussa Dembele is supposedly very good. He is probably better than Pereira.

Your argument was the championship is hustle and bustle. Andreas will benefit from that since that style is seen in the Premier League. In addition there is more subtlety in the Championship now with many of the coaches coming from abroad and many of the players they sign come from abroad. So it's not like 20 years ago when a young talented kid is surrounded by yard-dogs and veteran journeymen.

He is at Celtic

Bad move for me. With the exception of European football, the championship is a stronger league. Should've stayed in the championship and gone to another club as Fulham are a mess.

So... it is not LVG's fault now that he is not ready to get into Jose's plan either?

We have signed Pogba, Mkhi and Zlatan, incase you haven't noticed we are extremely strong offensively. He needs game time, loan makes sense.
Or he is just not ready to step up like the last season.

We have played two league games this season. We have options also this summer. Last year there were so many players out of form. Forget Perreira, even Schneiderlin hasnt got in a proper game till now.

Nobody wants to answer my question.
Does the Championship provide a conveyer belt of talent for the EPL or even other top leagues?
I dont see other leagues raiding the Championship for quality players.
The championship is still hustle and bustle, its a long season of helter skelter football, it hasnt changed at all. Its exciting for sure, a good league to watch but I dont see many young players transitioning up to big clubs from it, they are being sourced elsewhere.

So your point is that he is not good enough to break out to the first team squad just like he wasn't last season?

What's that got to do with Pereira? We're talking about loaning him out there to get experience. To answer the question anyway:

Jonny Evans, Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley, Jesse Lingard, James Wilson and Nick Powell - all highly thought off spent time in that league. Only Powell failed to make the grade while Wilson still has time but needs to produce at Derby - a good Championship side aiming for promotion.

Harry Kane had multiple loans down the leagues. Dele Alli came from League 1. The Leicester boys. The Southampton boys (Lallana, Fonte and Schneiderlin were in League 1). Spurs bought Bale from the Champ. Arsenal bought Oxlade Chamberlin from League 1.

Francis Coquelin was recalled from Charlton and has been a main-stay ever since. Aaron Ramsey was bought from Cardiff in the champ and spent time at Nottingham Forest on loan to get back from injury.

47.5m John Stones started off at Barnsley.

Ashley Williams has spent much of his career in the champ/league 1. He was a crucial member of Wales' heroics, a solid PL defender, leader and considered a signing Arsenal should have made.

Sending young talents on loan to a) get regar football b) be in a culture of expectation and pressure and c) being out on your own where you're fighting for your spot and out of your comfort zone is a good thing.

Excellent post! Could even go further back and look at people like Beckham if you really need further evidence of what a loan move at a lower league can do for a player.

Zaha's form in the championship was so good Fergie went after him

I think with all the money teams in Premier league have they would rather go for tried and tested than high potential academy stars. Moyes went for Adnan because of the relationship he has with him. A year ago premier league clubs would have went after CBJ, he says they were interested but I think they didn't offer the squad role he wanted. A season in the championship will be good for Andreas and if he does well then he will earn a place in Mourinho's squad or a premier league loan

Agree with this, I believe he will be better served playing a full season in the Championship than spending a season in the U23s with the occasional place on the bench.

If he's sent to a Spanish club on loan, do we think that's an indication he's being prepared for a sale rather than a return to United (as per Januzaj for example)?

Good question, i hope not. Think the kid got potential. I think he can develop his game nicely there, maybe the clubs in the PL werent that interested and he and Jose prefered Spain, instead of going to the Championship. I just want him to get regular game time.

It's the perfect league for him to show his talent and gain confidence. I don't think he should be playing in the Championship and the risk of loaning him to an EPL club is too high.
