So far the standard has been very low this season, although there is a few quite girls.
Well they are choosing from a far larger talent pool, it only makes sense

It has to be if it was the same average the US would have it 6:1 and they only choose the best, so they would on average have better finalist, that said I think that US has more a popstar mentality so there are gonna be more talented people doing this, where as a lot of the top music I like out of the UK the bands or singers would never do shit like that

well little david was good but nowhere near as good as david cook.
his versions of well known songs were superb - i actually didn't like him at first but when he did " hello " i was hooked
Yep was very good at making songs his own. There was another song he did that i really liked. Name escapes me though.

The show is contrived beyond the limits of what most define as contrived. And the 'Idols'... fecking disgrace. Give me an 'artist' who has the capacity to write something now and again. Otherwise, they can go to the fecking opera.
To be fair it is a singing competition and doesnt pretend to have anything to do with writing.
I dont post much here about music but whenever i peek i find the taste in music to be extremely strange. Everyone seems to listen to british bands/ music which the rest of the world has never heard of.

Quite obvious. I'm more knowledgeable than you. Age isn't the main factor. I'm only 27. However if you don't realize that West Coast American 60's cult classic from a lad who thought he would die within months is 'Forever Changes' by Love, you don't know rock music. Sorry. Do some more research.

Whether that's using it for creative output or just giving yourself some peace of mind to get through a tough night. You my friend are noone to claim someone else doesnt know music.
