I think that was the argument they made back when live tv became a thing though and hasn’t been really challenged since. Financially clubs lower down can be easily compensated if it actually does affect them greatly. Majority of these fans are anti big club blah blah blah types anyway.

Germany, if you want to watch the Premier League you have to get Sky and the quality with their media player is much worse. I'd prefer just watching the game and not having to pay extra for any experts, but maybe that's just me. Sometimes while cooking i watch some of the post match debates, but that's it.Is this for Germany or Canada? Here in Canada initially, I was a bit weired out but TSN losing the PL to DAZN but I did th trail thing and was pleasantly surprised and now I really like it! They even have a Kodi addon which means I can watch it on my Libreelec setupThe only thing about DAZN that is missing is post-game chat, once they get that it will be perfect, regardless its still conveniently excellent.

Nice. I hope one day I can purchase a legit season ticket stream of some kind for a reasoanble price, money is being left on the table every weekend. I have no interestt in BT's or Sky's other channels and their crappy selection of games that sometimes involves my team. We're still in the fecking 90s with this but now split with mutliple providers of archaic TV packages.
For some I'm sure it is but I don't watch programmes and only order a few things a year at most ,non of them had any prime price and they've all come with free delivery anyway so I'd be down £80 for nothing. I'll get this prime month for free but £80 for two United games next year won't be tempting.

I’m curious to see what kind of lag there is. Will we get notifications of goals on our phones before it happens on the TV? Won’t feel very “live” if so. Some interesting technical challenges for them to overcome there.

They've streamed other live sports although I don't know how they did. I would hope a company like Amazon can deliver it with little to no delay.

Personally hope there coverage this week and on the 26th-27th Dec is a major success and they bid hard for the next set of tv rights whenever they are back in the auction market.
For what they charge, Sky & BT are rip-offs.
I'm not a fan of monopolies or giant companies owning/controlling almost everything.
The way forward is surely a subscription service like NBA Game Time; how can I not legally watch every minute of a United league game in the country they are based.
I have 2 avenues to get tickets & have turned them down a few times this season as I actually prefer the comfort of my own bone generally.

Yea i generally prefer watching from home on a tv screen. you can see everything better.
Granted i have been to old trafford three times, two league games and one champions league game and the experience was brilliant. But i was up high in the stands and found it difficult to see anything. Luckily on all three times it was dry weather.

Yup, can watch like this now..., but not via the official broadcasts. No way is this sustainable long term. Existing TV model will go the way of the dinosaur.
I get Amazon Prime on and off. In other words when I buy something off of Amazon, its cheaper to sign up for a few days, get the next day delivery, cancel; get refunded for the rest of the month.

Also Sky are to cheap to pay for the big domestic boxing fights and stick it all on Sky Box Office.

VAR has been a huge negative to my enjoyment of the game now and to be honest I’m considering cancelling my sky and bt subscription but I’m useless when it comes to streaming games. If I was able to stream them properly I would definitely get rid of the subscriptions.

You do realise that if Amazon made significant inroads into football coverage, no doubt their charges would go up? It's great that I don't have to pay any more for the first round of games on Prime Video already being a Prime subscriber. I just hope they don't change their business model too drastically going forward.
I also get BT Sport free with my BT TV/ Superfast Fibre Broadband deal at £70 per month which I think is very decent so can't complain really. I switched from Sky years ago and don't regret it. I'll stay with BT while their BT Sport is completely free.
I think the biggest plus would be a stage where fans can subscribe to ALL of their clubs games.
