Amazon Prime and Premier League Rights

Ally McCoist thinks every pass Pogba makes is unintentional.

I'm a big fan of Prime and would happily spend a bit more per month if they get access to regular games.

I normally eye roll at what the co commentators normally come out with but Ally seems so positive and light hearted. The opposite to Savage on BT who criticises a player for a misplaced pass.

It’s been shite.

Also even if it has been decent for others, how can anyone prefer that over Ultra 4K HD on Sky?

I don’t understand. People really hate the punditry/commentary that much that they’d sacrifice picture quality?
Far cheaper.

McCoist seemed to be getting a bit of hate in the matchday thread, but I liked him a lot. Doesn't really offer anything in-depth, but definitely more entertaining than the usual rotation of ex-pro drones.

It was stable for me for the full 90, even with my countryside non-fibre 5mbp/s internet. Much better than BT Sport streams.

Flawless stream as always. Can't wait for this to replace traditional broadcasts

I liked the coverage, McCoist was pretty good when he wasn't second guessing every players pass.

Had no issues with buffering.

I definitely want to hear more about Ally's week in Magaluf

With the delay, isnt it a situation that can have fans at these matches make quick bets before the world catches up? Are the international broadcasts just relaying Amazons feed?

Nah the online betting sites have no delay. When i used to have cable sometimes bet365 was ahead by 5+seconds

Tyldsley and Champion are two of the finest football commentators and criminally underused by main stream TV. Glad Prime have helped fill that void. Townsend is an outstanding pundit - he hits the right balance vs whiney McManaman, Carragher or Savage. McCoist is good fun and harmless but not the most knowledgeable pundit but give me him over a Martin Keown, Danny Murphy or Alan Smith borefest any day.

Impressed with the production and for me blows BT out the water and not far off Sky apart from the obvious streaming issues for some. Plus there’s much less adverts than Sky!

Image quality is fine for me but FPS seems low co pared to Sky.

For me, on the PS4 the IQ is superior to Sky's but I get the same issue as you, the noticeable frame drop when the camera is panning. Its not really off putting, just very noticeable.

Love that you can turn off commentary. Ridiculous Sky and BT don't seem to offer that option.

I'm raging. I have prime but this poxy Premier Sports crowd have the rights for these games over here in Ireland and I'm fecked if I'm subscribing.

Pub is the best option. I usually just buy a pint of heineken and drink it slowly.

I used to think I wanted this option but I did it for half a match and turned the commentary back on. Football for me is a very social sport and I'm either talking to people in the stands/in the pub or if I'm watching it by myself I'm agreeing/disagreeing in my head with the opinions of the pundits. Without the commentary it felt like I was missing that element which keeps my brain active during matches and despite it being Robbie Savage on the commentary, I decided I'd prefer to listen to that idiot than nothing at all.

On Prime? I'd need to watch it through the laptop then? I only have it through the app on Sky at the moment. Good shout though, I'll give it a lash. Thanks
You can get vpns on just about every set top box that you have prime on. No need to use a laptop.

Having Shearer co-commentating on the Newcastle v Norwich game reminded me of the old Sky Fan Zone.

McCoist commentating is always a win, he's so passionate and great to listen too.

I know it's relatively easy for Amazon to build up to only a handful of games every season. But I think they're the best football broadcasters in the UK.

Tyldesley and McCoist, in particular, have the best rapport and repartee on TV.

Refreshing sideline trio. Decent banter, not too serious. Nice for a midweek.

I do really like how it’s done, great to be able to flick between the games and after the initial issues they had the first time the stream quality has been bang on.

Agree and I think it helps they aren't trying to convince people to watch for the drama. They're in a unique position where the football is just an extra benefit for existing subs.

It's nothing fancy but a refreshing change of pace from Sky/BT
