He needs 90mins of regular first team football to help him develop.

This is where Utd have been very poor and admitted as much. Getting their young players out on loan to the right club.

A season in the Championship with a side who lack creativity or wingers would be ideal.

Makes the summer we signed him, Pellistri and van de Beek even more bewildering. Typifies the club and the severe lack of foresight and planning.

Our loan system is very poor.

Club is embarrassing for not taking a punt on Caicedo.

Could be a late bloomer like de bruyne, van dijk and mo Salah... would be disappointed if he doesn't succeed at some point in his career, one of the most talented youngster around

He is so talented and the club need to ensure he is going to the right team this season. The club should cover every cent of his wages to ensure he goes to the right place.

Yeah but are we running out of time to send him out? Hopefully now that we have Antony, we can get him sent out soon. He needs regular football for a whole season, huge talent there.

I can see him being a David Silva-type player as he matures.

We should sell him with a buy back clause. Or loan him with a buy and buy back clause option.

Most teams won't develop players for free, there needs to be something in it for them. He won't get many minutes in any top league as he's not ready to make an instant impact. The more seasons go by the lower his reputation and value gets, we tend to wait too much for this youngsters to step up.

We must surely have mentioned him to Ajax? They need a RW and only have a few days to sort it out

'Teams won't develop players for free'. I always found this notion strange - the 'something in it for them' is supposed to be that they get a player who provides value to their side.

We will obviously be waiting a very long time for young players to step up if they are not given opportunities to play.

When I first watched him my thoughts were...he gave me hints of Messi but without the speed and strength. I always felt he was too small and honestly felt we got rinsed. If he somehow develops physically then we have an outrageous player on our hands. He's Ivorian and they're rarely small. I think we'll eventually be able to sell him for same price we paid.

Why you find it strange? A player on loan will only play if he's better than the other options. There's no value for a team for developing a youngster only to send him back to his club.

Why would any team care about Amad's progress if he's not going to be with them next season?

This is 100%.

Yes, a team can loan a player, but said player will be given opportunity if he is the best option within that team, only then it is a win-win for all sides, loanee team gets a good player for a year, player gets an opportunity to play football games consistently, the loaning team gets back a player who had consistent game time that made the player readier for senior team

Did you not read the rest of the sentence? And you've answered yourself - because he adds value to the team. If he's not better than the other options (or provides something the teams missing etc.) then why would he be there? What difference would a permanent transfer make?

I don’t get how Elanga is valued more than this guy.

Is it his age?

Should have tried to include him on loan in the Antony deal.

Loan to the a Championship please.

its because Amad is weak as piss and Elanga has come along really well physically

I can see that.

But physically what does Elanga give? The defensive substance of tracking back?

pressing, intensity and not getting pushed off the ball easily

Elanga is not elite at anything by any stretch, he's just much further along than Amad

Neither should be near our starting eleven lets be honest

If a loan move doesn't materialise, i think the manager would use him in the Europa group and league cup games, he is better off with us than going to a team that plays contrary to the way we want to play.

I think staying this first year with ETH would help more than going out on loan, with us he'll learn how to play our football everyday in training, grow up behind the sense, when he's ready the manager would introduce him in games that would be use to easy him in.

I have a feeling ETH has a plan for Amad, Garancho and Elenga.

He isn't equally as weak, that's an absurd claim

obviously less talented is correct though
Amad is really small and weak, but Elanga is also a piss take, couple of times he tried to get past a player over the weekend and he was brushed aside like a feather. Amad in comparison goes into more duels and is more evident how weak he is.

A player can "add value" to a team without playing. Such as providing inner competition within the squad or being a back up if an injury crisis arises for example.

We've seen ton of times how we loan out players and they barely feature. Like Amad's and Pellistri's loans for example.

The advantage of a definitive transfer is that the team see value in developing the youngster, sure he might not be ready to make immediate impact but they see potential and think the learning curve it's worth it because they'll keep a player with potential and if the parent club wants him back they'll receive extra millions. That's a win-win operation, simple loans rarely work out.

For us is definitely a winning situation if the youngster steps up we buy him back if he doesn't then you've already got a fee for him.

I would live to see him loaned to France, its a very physical league and would help with that part of his game.

That’s good. Hopefully impresses and he gets a permanent move.

A loan to a team with no manager. Hope the club have got assurances after the Rangers move.
