I was slightly underwhelmed tbh.
He's technically gifted but is nowhere near ready. He needs to be loaned out from a couple of years IMO.
a loan is not the answer

No wayI can see the talent is there but James is clearly ahead of him on merit.

Way.No way
hard to say that really, didn’t do any less than james in a lot of his performances. you have to take into account the team also.Amad did okay and I was pleased at the way he won the ball and worked it for Greenwood's goal. However, those who have been crying out for him to start should have got a wake up call from that performance. He's definitely got something but he's a long, long way away from being ready for regular first team football.
There's a player in there.. just needs more game time to catch up to the speed of the league.
I’m not saying there isn’t reason for it. I’m just referring to the selection decisions Solskjaer gets criticised for.Hardly a comparison that can be made. Amad had played less than 100 mins cumulatively. If James had played less than 100 minutes in half-a-season he'd probably not merit his place either. If you have to compare two players on a merit basis then they both have to have significantly comparable minutes and James would have to play in some of the poor teams Amad has. Like I said, James has merited his place, but he's done so on the basis of significantly more minutes played first.
Have to say was a bit disappointed. Does he show for the ball more in the under 21s?
He is class on the ball, but he didn't get it as much as he should. Williams had no one to pass to quite often.
He'll get better with coaching but he's not a first team player currently, and we haven't got much for the price we've paid for him. Looks more like a signing for the youth team to develop for a year or two.
Truer words were never spoken. Thanks Michael Owen.Thought he did well. He’s a kid and has a kid body yet the way he manipulated the ball at times to get past players was seriously impressive.
Looks a proper talent.
James has been trash, not sure what you've been watching.Way.
Way too good for our youth team.

Show for what ball? Our midfield was utterly useless because VDB had a mare.Have to say was a bit disappointed. Does he show for the ball more in the under 21s?

The player who actively ruins attacks? No chance.I can see the talent is there but James is clearly ahead of him on merit.

True, but also nowhere near ready for the first team. So bit of a conundrum for him. Maybe a loan back to Italy or something.

Football without bias.James has been trash, not sure what you've been watching.
Yes, that one. He’s more ready for senior football than Amad. That should be obvious. And I’m no big fan of James. The player who actively ruins attacks? No chance.
I don’t disagree, but I can see the logic in what Solskjaer is doing. He’s in a results business and for now, James is a better player than Amad. I’d be amazed if that stays the case though.Agreed. Those criticisms are usually unfounded.
I just think that James is the significant beneficiary of having numerous minutes playing in front of AWB and Shaw; beside Rashford, Cavani, Bruno, Pogba, etc. Those players lift up his performance quality. They elevate him. Amad, by contrast, is getting his sporadic minutes playing with Williams, Telles, VdB, Mata, etc, and so those poorer players expose him and protect him less.
My personal preference is that the least experienced talented kids should get their minutes with the best possible team, since they are more likely to cover his inexperience. Poorer sides expose that inexperience. That's why I think Amad playing with those weaker set of players is sometimes counter-productive.
