There are some holes/oddities in the blocked list. Amoros blocked but not Bossis would be one example.

Clearly a top pick given the pool here at any rate.

Amoros is generally rated higher so it's not surprising, otherwise Bossis is one of the best in his position in the pool, no doubt.

Thought blocking Francescoli instead of Sivori as well, but decided with the latter. There are some really odd blocks in the initial list but I guess as Aldo pointed due to the nature of the draft.

Yes, the list would've looked a bit different if it had been composed from scratch. The keeper inclusions (and non-inclusions) are particularly odd, to make the most obvious example. Doesn't matter, though - the list serves its purpose. Once you get below a certain level, there will never be any consensus as to who ranks above/below who anyway.

Well, this is a classic case of almost certainly losing out on a vital target in order to secure another one. And, frankly, I'm not sure which target is - actually - most vital. So, it's a gamble. The player himself is no gamble, though. He had it all: Speed, brains, finishing - and a fantastic head of hair.

:drool: Spent so much time in that draft, especially reading up on Blanchflower. Couldn't find a negative word about him and beyond the obvious passing range and the way he controlled the tempo of the game that you'd expect from a deep lying playmaker he was praised for his defensive abilities and leadership as well. I am happy he went so early because he really deserves to picked around this stage in the draft.

Obviously you have to take all the praise with a pinch of salt like with all the old players as you can't find a lot of critique but the matches and stories all backs him up as one hell of a player.
