All time ODI Draft

Yeah. This has been dragging on for far too long. And we're only at R16. I've tried my best to speed it up, but not getting enough responses.
Today's scheduled Games are
  • Harshad vs VP: @VP, please send in your write-up to Akshay and Skills, since Harshad already has.
  • Mani vs Aldo: This game is good to go since both write-ups have been submitted.

We need to start handing out forfeits for people who still haven't submitted.

Unfortunately, I don't have the authority to do that. If I even suggested it, I might be vilified. But I did hope Skills would introduce something like that.

Honestly the knockouts should have been progressed way beyond the QFs till now. People have lost interest in this.

Don't think it's a lack of interest. Many people couldn't keep their commitments for one reason or the other. Because when the matches do go up, we have seen a healthy number of voters. And Skills with his thesis preparation and Akshay now on WW duties means Modding has also suffered.

Well someone needs to takeover and enforce stricter votes. @KM you ran the test draft, want to be incharge of the scheduling? Whoever doesnt send in his write-up after the agreed day (give them one extra day if you are feeling kind) automatically forfeits.

Nope can't do. Too busy with life.

Modding isn't an issue, Ijazz has been doing a good job. People need to keep to their deadlines.

Go for it. Don't make it army controlled Pakistan though boom

Army controlled pakistan actually did really well in the short run, problems started when people wanted musharaf to be diplomatic. I wont have time to be online from 9-6/7 pst otherwise would have done it by now.

Why the f has harshad vs VP not kicked off yet? This is where we learn the importance of strong management, like I displayed in test drafts. noobs all around.

No need for a walkover. Just start the game with only their starting 11 in the writeup. These players aren't some 19th century heroes that no one knows about.

I was kidding with walkover. Still set a deadline and proceed with as much info you have that is starting XI, toss and write up of the team which submitted it.

Yup.

The drafters can always just post their write ups after the threads have gone up. It's no big deal really since the OP is just an introduction to the actual discussion which happens later on.

Do we have a list of who has won/lost so far?

  • Skills vs MJJ: Skills bats first. Skills drops Aaron Finch and the Bermudan Whale drops MJJ. The excel was not enough as The Whale wins it.
  • Boycott vs Samid: Boycott bats first and rests Tikolo. Jaddu is sacrificed for Samid's team. Samid wins it with Collingwood taking a scorcher.
  • KM vs PaulScholes18: KM bats first and drops a lie. Also drops Junaid Khan. PS18 drops Hafeez. PS18s fear of the press, made this a one way traffic. KM advances.
  • Skizzo vs RedTiger: Team Skizzo will bat first dropping Irish legend Kevin O' Brien. RT-LC have decided to drop controversial figurehead, Misbah. A game that ended with 11 votes a piece, it was down to a best of 3 votes (After Superover was rejected) which ended in heartbreak for RT-LCs team TWICE!
  • NM vs EAP: NM has decided to chase the game and has dropped Ray Price. EAP has dropped McMillan.
  • Harshad vs VP: Harhsad bats first, drops Mills.
  • Mani vs Aldo: Mani bats first, drops Ijazz17 and R. Arnold. Ando drops David Miller.
  • Red Viper vs Crappy:

@MJJ ,

When do we have the toss and what are the pitch conditions?

You won the toss.

Personally these are the factors that come to my mind for each country:
  • Australia - Quick, bouncy but overall batsmen friendly ground. Massive boundaries - so you need good runners between wickets, as you might not get full value for your shots (good runners will benefit).
  • England - some movement early on, generally flat and batsmen friendly after.
  • India - flat pitches, very quick outfields. Poor SG ball.
  • Pakistan - Quick, but overall batsmen friendly. Reverse swing is a factor.
  • Sri Lanka - slow, low pitches. More spinner friendly than either India or Pakistna.
  • South Africa - see England + high altitude. Easier to clear boundaries.
  • New Zealand - swinging and seaming pitches. Very short boundaries, really quick outfields.
  • West Indies - see Pakistan.

@VP has still not given an update. What do you want to do @Skills and @Akshay? I say we wait 24 hours from today's game. If he isn't ready by then, Harshad gets the bye.
